We would be getting tonked but for our keeper, most on here praising us but it's another poor showing from us
Re: Wolves vs Burnley ~ MATCH THREAD - EFL Cup
In the circumstances, some promise here but it's going to take urgent attacking reinforcement and time to gel before we can say whether we offer any threat this season.

Well a lot to be positive in that first half. A decent winger or 2 a striker and we wont be a million miles away - need some pace up top.
Cullen ekdal beyer esteve pires Ramsey to all come back. And the international break ahead. - Scottie will sort it.. he’s played 3 very different formations but seems to be able to assess what’s required from the team.. feeling most optimistic ive done all week

We have been too pedestrian. Need to up the tempo.
Re: Wolves vs Burnley ~ MATCH THREAD - EFL Cup
Some signs of promise from the new lads, and no lack of effort. Much better than I thought.

Well they'd have to exaggerate to create any interest.

How many subs can we make? As I can think of 4 straight away.

Re: Wolves vs Burnley ~ MATCH THREAD - EFL Cup
I know it’s only a pointless league cup game but some of these players are not even league 2 standard. Sambo and Hountondji are completely out of their depth. Massengo is nowhere to be seen. Brownhill is also hiding. Jay Rod should have been put out to pasture a couple of seasons ago. 1 real positive is Hannibal. He looks pretty decent.

Quite happy with that half - we’ve no threat at all, but considering the circumstances, I think there’s a lot to be positive about against a Wolves side. Hannibal, Humphries and Hladky (Triple H?!) have been stand outs for me.

Re: Wolves vs Burnley ~ MATCH THREAD - EFL Cup
Under the circumstances we’ve done ok. Lots of energy and good ball retention. No attacking threat but that was always likely with the players available. Worral and Hannibal look like good acquisitions. It’s clear where we need to strengthen.

Good to see the changes.
Got to do something. Not expecting much but can't be any less attacking.

Massengo would be a real player if his final decision making was better

Got lots of energy and a bit of bite but seems to be lacking technical ability and decision making.
Think there’s defo a role for him in the squad though

Never see a more obvious “two eyes on Saturday” set of subs.

Hopefully Hannibal has been withdrawn with Blackburn in mind and not because he's picked anything up.

We paid more for Hountondji than we did for Koleosho.

Might not have had much match fitness either. It was a good 45minutes from him. Surprised Jay is still on the pitch but that said, we've no other options really.

Nice touches. A player in there but nothing I've seen would make me think he wil be a game changer. He's a type who will look OK as we win or lose.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt at the moment, he's a striker not a winger - completely different skill setburnley007 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 8:40 pmWe paid more for Hountondji than we did for Koleosho.

Hountondji had 18 goal contributions last season.
Koleosho has two goal contributions in his career
