I’ve seen little to suggest we are not treating this as an extra pre-season friendly. Not great to watch but pretty much as I expected. Anyone drawing conclusions on players from this is just looking for a moan. No one is breaking their necks, nor would I want them to be.

Given a run in the side, I think massengo turns into a real player.
Fair play to some of you for staying positive. I'm finding this utterly demoralising to watch, one of the most depressing games I've seen us involved in for many a year.
I know not everyone is a fan of Kompany but he would never have accepted this from the chairman. This isn't a team we are watching, or even an attempt at a team..it's the leftovers shoved out there to fulfill a fixture with no belief we can actually win.

To be fair I've only watched 10 mins that's why

Fir perspective this is Wolves reserves playing at a practice game pace. Craig Dawson is head and shoulders better than any defender currently on for us !!!! Worrall is carthorse speed. McNally giving 50% max. I am about to do something I have never done before and that is turn the tv off when Burnley are playing. I am beyond disgusted
Talk about the old “weapons-grade dramaqueenery”

File under the lad we got from on loan under laws. That bad I’ve forgot his name. Bolton away he looked like he’d only just played football that evening.
Crikey……….with it being years ago we can now laugh at that night……..did he just last half the match and never seen again?

Let’s give Hountdonji more than two games in a makeshift side eh?

His debut was away at Manchester United I believe. Came on as a sub.

Crap.

Yes it's painful to see what that poisonous pr1ck Pace has done to our club, but the lads out there are genuinely trying their best. I'm not having it that any of them are giving less than 100%.

It ticks me off when we play narrow at the back and the opposition play chalk on heels wide men, unmarked, whilst our defenders have nobody to mark in the middle.
The first goal was a perfect example, Worrall had Guedes in the middle and Humphries should have been a lot closer to his winger. This has been the way for several seasons now so what do I know.

For an absolute mish-mash of a side with literally every player bar McNally and Worrall playing out of their primary position, we’ve done as well as can be expected.

It’s not good but none of the players are at fault tonight. The blame lies with ALK and no one else.

I’m really struggling to see that.

Think he’s been quite poor tbh. I mean I’m definitely going to give him the benefit of the doubt his midfield partner is a right back haha.

Not sure I’m seeing the quality that others are.

Sky Sports pundits cannot understand the huge drop off in performance by Burnley from their 2 opening Championship victories. What could it be??

Great to know that they do their research at Sky.

Of course it's a makeshift team but if he had anything whatsoever to offer or put on show it would be clear even in a bad side. Nothing on show from him but at least he's still here.

I don’t think we are beating bastards on Saturday looking at this set of players we have currently. Hope to god I’m wrong but this game on top of Sunderland we look absolutely lost, shellshocked and beaten.

Some unbelievable comments in here tonight.
Hountondji obviously this season's whipping boy. Let's see what he's like when we actually plays in the position he should.
As for the rest of them they won't have had much playing time together, so let's just accept it as a training game.
League games are far more important and this weekend should be treated as another game for the players to gel together, whatever the result.
There are far more important things this season than a certain two games and the fact a silly little clock may get reset. Is it any wonder we get called a small minded club at times.
Let's just get behind whoever takes to the field

Honestly may seem a bit extreme but McDermott has looked better than quite a few of our seasoned pros.

Looks very tidy with the ball

What is this obsession with "scapegoats" etc? if someone is playing poorly then criticism is legitimate. Houtondji, even out of position, has now played almost two full games for us and shown very very little. Criticism is fine.

We do have to bear in mind he is out of position, but he still he hasn't really shown anything at all. I hope he improves with time.

He's definitely not put a performing together yet, just glimpses. A sharp pass or getting out of a tight spot. Hopefully he gets better and wins you round. I suspect he'll be "first reserve" behind browny and Cullen though anyway
