I said last year that we didn’t feel like Burnley anymore. I felt like we were on the edge when we were spending freely and I worried about the future. I don’t really feel any different now.

Players are being sold
Players are being purchased to replace them
Some of you would have a point if players weren’t coming into the club
All these claims of asset stripping, sliding down the league etc are just bonkers
We haven’t even reached the end of the transfer window and you’re all doom and gloom
You’ve zero patience to see how it pans out over the next few months
If it all clicks again like it did under Kompany, some of you are going to loom very dim, it will be hilarious and I’ll be here for it
I’ve nothing to be embarrassed about though so I’m fine

It’s the next two days that will provide the answer. Fail to deliver and the next few months (and quite possibly much, much longer) will be anything but exciting times.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 11:58 pmPlayers are being sold

Promotion, this year or next, is imperative. This season looks less and less likely by the day, the season after will be even more challenging, with another three clubs in the mix with year 1 parachute payments.
I’m amazed that there are any Burnley fans who are not alarmed or concerned by what is going on. Its madness and has been for over 12 months now.
If it all clicks I’ll happily be proven to be dim, impatient or just plain wrong. Will you if it goes the other way!?

Ok go on then I’m concerned and worried that last years spending spree didn’t work out well. I’ll bounce a question back at you. What should we as supporters do about it?DCWat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 12:09 amIt’s the next two days that will provide the answer. Re: How long left for ALK?
That's the issue, not a lot we can do about it. We have to watch it all unfold and hope for the best. At the moment that's an incredibly difficult thing to do.beeholeclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:10 amOk go on then I’m concerned and worried that last years spending spree didn’t work out well. Trust the process we were told. The process looks absolutely nuts right now and trust is out of the window, for me anyway.

What would happen if ALK and their associated backers took all their cash and walked out forever?Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:50 amSit down protest outside main entrance 80’s style.
In the absence of a billionaire buy out what choice have BFC got? In business terms they are BFC.

the transfer receipts are not their cash, they are the clubs.beeholeclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:34 amWhat would happen if ALK and their associated backers took all their cash and walked out forever?

Re: How long left for ALK?
Not sure they put any money in, they used the clubs capital to buy it and borrowed the rest.ClaretAndJew wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:07 pmPreface this as being based on nothing but my own gut feelings and opinions.
I feel that ALK won’t be here much longer, especially when they realise it’s not as simple as buying and selling for profit. Last time in the EFL we had the impact of a world renowned name helping us bring players in. Not so much the case this time.
We have a relatively talented squad but the turnaround has been huge, despite the amount of changes last time we were relegated, this time feels different somehow.
I suspect ALK will want their money back and then some, and once they have, we will be up for sale.
They have turned the club from a stable locally connected one into a cash cow churning young players they can make a profit on and cutting wages selling or letting go high earners
The model creates chaos for fans managers and players. For now it’s working and they have a £40m profit on the £100m summer sales. They could take that as dividends. Can Parker make this bunch of new players into a promoted team we can only pray
