Re: Oasis
I just had to log in here for the haters comments , never quite got the sheer wild eyed envy and bitterness of the “ they’re a Beatles tribute band /can’t play /can’t sing /only had a few decent songs/ not proper music “ lot .
FWIW their music has stood the test of time for 30+ yrs and the resurrection of Liam’s voice over the last few yrs is incredible ( sans autotune) . Personally I can’t feckin wait to see them together again . If you know you know .

Re: Oasis
I'm not particularly fussed but it's good news for any fans who didn't get a chance to see them live before they split. Most of the tickets will be scooped up by bots and resold at ridiculous prices. Either that or Ticketmaster's "dynamic" pricing rip-off where you will be looking at £300+.

Re: Oasis
Good luck to all who try on Saturday. I’m at the mercy of my data as in Tenerife so have a few of us trying to get a pair on any of the Heaton Park days. Going to be rough.
My only hope is that they’re almost certainly going to add dates when you look at the gaps between. Probably at both Heaton and Wembley.

Re: Oasis
Anyone know if it’s possible to put a bet on the song they’ll open with ? I’ve always thought that when the (inevitable) reunion occurred they would open with Acquiesce …a real belter and lyrically perfect with its “Because we need each other, we believe in one another” chorus

Re: Oasis
Great song and would make sense with context. I’d like Live Forever just because it’s arguably my favourite and has a bit of that same lyrical meaning, or Cigarettes and Alcohol just to go mental.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:42 amAnyone know if it’s possible to put a bet on the song they’ll open with ? Re: Oasis
Liam always starts with Rock & Roll Star, doesn't he? So most likely that.

Re: Oasis
They will start with Rock and Roll Star, that’s almost guaranteed. Then they’ll play the same old songs they always played live.
Re: Oasis
There's scope for them to add more dates. Those gaps are a bit of a giveaway.
I'll risk holding fire on the first batch until I see the price and see who is playing. If the HFB rumour is true it's just Liam joining Noel's band for a bit.
I reckon there'll be loads available on secondary sites nearer the time too.

Could someone get a ticket for the missus for me?
She’d like to go and I’d rather stick knitting needles in my eyes.

Saw Oasis in the greatly missed Duchess of York in Leeds, in the very early 90's. Probably less than 100 in, they opened with 'Rock and Roll Star' and I thought 'You know, this lot aren't bad'.

Re: Oasis
Oasis certainly captured a moment in time brilliantly and made some good anthems. I think as with everything the hyperbole gets a little bit too much and find some aspects of their hardcore fans a little bit off-putting; it is possible to like and appreciate them without going over the top.
There's so much good music in the world, I find it a little sad when people, who purportedly love music, close their horizons off a bit.

Thought I'd help fellow Clarets out by posting the link for the "pre-sale balot" for tickets, good luck.

Re: Oasis
Cardiff is a good venue as it is in the city centre, surrounded by pubs and restaurants, and next to the train and bus stations. I would just avoid the lower level seating as the sound is a bit crap there.

Gone many years ago now. I used to get the monthly flier when I was at Uni in Leeds and plan my gigs. Remember passing on going to see NirvanaAmbleClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:54 pmOne of my favourite pubs when a student in Leeds in the '80s. I assume it's no longer with us ?
