Considering the support acts and it will be a full afternoon/evening festival essentially, I don’t think the pricing is too bad.

It was 110 quid for Taylor swift
F*ck Jonas brothers charging over 100 quid at the co-op

You would pay similar to see lesser acts for a one day ticket at reading, or other multi day festivals

Tried to enter the ballot but I got the name of their original drummer wrong three times so I gave up. Hope those who get tickets have a great time. You gotta rock with it!

Bonkers them ticket prices.

The young uns will pay it though.
They are welcome to it. I'll stick to gigs where I'll be paying £20 to £30 quid at small to midsize venues like Manc Acadamy, Deaf Institute, Hebden Bridge's Trades Club and the Brudenell in Leeds etc. In any case, I'm not fond of arena bands.

Also, you can't beat the intimacy of small venues where you'll see bands who are gigging because they still love what they do, rather than bands who reluctantly get back together in order to milk their fanbase for every penny.

Gone many years ago now. I used to get the monthly flier when I was at Uni in Leeds and plan my gigs. Remember passing on going to see Nirvana
You missed out. I saw them supporting Sonic Youth - both bands were immense.

An ageing old band having one last go at taking the **** for a big payday reunion

I wonder what NG would have to say about that.

Actually I don't have to wonder, didn't he have a big go at Blur doing this last year?

They've always been shameless about making money, which is fine ofc but the hypocrisy is a bit distasteful

I wish more people were like you.

It's hard to get people in small venues to watch local bands.

To be fair, those bands should practice more then they would get better.

I don't like watching bands at large arenas. I saw Smashing Pumpkins years ago at the Manchester Arena, called NYNEX at the time, and those large venues just aren't for me. For all the atmosphere it gave me, I might as well have been watching a video rather than a live gig. I'm the same with festivals - been to Glastonbury five times and only been to the Pyramid Stage a couple of times. I get that people love big venues and wouldn't lower themselves to buy a ticket for a 400-capacity venue like the Bru in Leeds.

I’m the same to be fair, although I don’t mind arena shows, I’ve had some great experiences at the arena in Manchester recently. The sound there is incredible now.

I can’t stand big open air gigs though. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a good one

I'll make one exception. The Piece Hall in Halifax - I've been three times now (Capacity 5500) and found the acoustics to be immense. Mind you, even though it's an open-air venue - it's kind of boxed in on all sides.

If its small venues and immense acoustics your after the Picturedrome in Holmfirth takes some beating saw Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel there on a hot balmy summers evening some years back...brilliant venue.

Loved my nights in there

Oasis have announced their 50,000 capacity gigs at Heaton Park will be available on presale to Manchester City season ticket holders.

After 24 hours, the remaining 49,500 tickets will be available to the public on general sale.

Watched the Streets at Piece Hall last week - what a brilliant outdoor venue. Sounded good, easy to get a good view and get to/return from the bar

Absolutely superb venue, saw Limp Bizkit and Korn there. Some great boozers around the PH and only a 20 minute train from Tod.

Give their relatively limited funds and the fact the brothers have never run a football club, so would I.

I'm 'in a queue' apparently. I'm only going through this rigmarole for my 13-year old son who's Oasis mad - needless to say he's still asleep in his scratcher whilst I'm sat here trying to sort this out.

Likely you'll eventually get beyond the queue and then the website will crash and you'll be back to square one.

Haha, I like your thinking. Perhaps get someone four or five houses away to blast it out but still sit in your own garden for the full Heaton Park effect. And then sit in your car on the drive for four hours afterwards.

Same here. Tried both nights and was 220000 & 180000

There’s a few of us trying multiple dates and either in a queue, waiting to join the queue or on a gateway error page

Same here. Can still join Dublin queue. Almost half a million in it 2 hours ago and tickets still available. Nothing is getting sold imho.

I was 3000 in queue and modus operandi Ticketmaster suddenly had 'an error' when I got in to purchase. I've given up now when it put me back to 200k in the queue.

Just served to reinforce my desire to only see bands at the Academy, Deaf Institute, Apollo, etc.
