Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
All true, but in the meantime we're seriously proposing to go through a season with Foster and Rodriguez as our only strikers ?
Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
Reported as an obligation to buy at 20m Euros.

You’d like to hope we have irons in the fire, rumours of a €20m obligation too.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:19 pmAll true, but in the meantime we're seriously proposing to go through a season with Foster and Rodriguez as our only strikers ?
If he’s a bit sulky too probably best not to have around.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
Potential departures in order of likelihood:-
Vitineo
Benson
McNally
Trafford
Koleosho
CJER
Brownhill
Hope it stops after Trafford, provided suitable replacements arrive. Although I don't rate CJER.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
I really don't get loans. Its absurd.
If they want him - then pay for him
If we want rid - then sell him.
It's just another way for football to cook the books.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
He's obviously got some ability, but there were times last season that I'd forgotten he was playing.
I'm guessing this is the last we'll see of him in a Burnley shirt, even if we're promoted.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
Likely he would have scored lots of goals for us in the Championship but if a player doesn’t want to be here it’s best to let them go for the sake of team spirit

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
I suspect both are too 'injured' for anyone to take on. I forgot Foster and think he may go. He'd be on my stay list because I don't think we can better I'm the time left without massive risk.

As for Foster, the way he's playing, I doubt there'd be many takers at the moment, plus his well publicised mental health problems would surely put some teams off.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
Madness
I can understand that he might want out, but being down to the bones with goal scorers, how can he go before a replacement is confirmed.
I can understand we might need the money, but what benefit is a loan to us. The only winners are Benfica and Zeki.
I've always supported AP, and I'll continue to do so, but this last week has been uncontrolled carnage. We appear to be drifting like a rudderless ship, and Alan needs to show that he is in control.
Still letting players go, after all the money we have already made makes no sense.
Undermining our chances of automatic promotion makes no sense.
Get a grip Alan.

No. I'm not one of these posters who pretends to be in the know.
I know we've been linked with the lad from Plymouth, but there may be others.
Put it this way, to just think we can make do with the remaining strikers we have would be suicide, in my opinion.

Re: ARTICLE: Amdouni goes Portuguese
Not from Foster if we have aspirations of promotion, he is too inconsistent to be regarded as a decent Goal scorer.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:19 pmQuite possibly so, but where are the goals going to come from ?
I doubt we have anyone capable of bagging anywhere near 15 goals now.
Someone needs to find a couple of players with 12+ goals in them as I don't see the squad contributing like 2022/23 and we don't have a Tella anywhere in sight.

That’s what we are all asking. I think this is one occasion when I can speak for everybody without anybody saying speak for yourself.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:19 pmQuite possibly so, but where are the goals going to come from ?
I predicted weeks ago we could sneak into the play offs because we would struggle to score in the first half of the season. In other words playing catch up.
24 hours to find that forward player to get those goals otherwise it’s the January window. In the meantime it’s going to be a handful from each of Brownhill, Anthony, Foster, Koleosho and Sarmiento. I don’t think Hannibal scores many and there will be another handful from Jay and the defenders.
With clean sheets and goals at the right time we should have enough in the first half of the season to allow us to push on in the second half.
That goalscorer though would be great news
