Some people must pine for the good old days of Mike Garlic , John B or Frank Teasdale. Remember those great days when we signed Dale Stephens and no one else.

Re: Instagram
She doesn't post it on here, someone else did.
She wasn't sending it to anyone in particular, she was just commenting on Wout's farewell tweet and admiring the sentiment of it considering how she felt he was treated on social media during his time here.
She was just expressing her opinion and she probably has first hand experience of unkind comments about herself and other family members.
I applaud the girl for taking a stance wether it be well advised or ill advised.
Freedom of speech, anyone? We tolerate differing opinions on here, why should she have to play by a different set of rules?

At least Wout put the shirt on and played at the start of the season, knowing he was leaving. Some of them didn't.

Re: Instagram
This is a daughter who loves her dad, and is probably reading social media a little too much. If you go on X often enough you start to think the world will end in any second. It's a place where you don't find moderation, you find the extremities of negative emotion from people desperate to release a bit of anger into the world.
Re: Instagram
If you're referring to my message, I said girl merely to imply my message as endearing and showing love for her father - not to disrespect her age. For goodness sake.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 10:10 pmIt's a little patronising to refer to a social media and marketing executive at Burnley FC as a "girl"

Re: Instagram
I am not on any socials but frequent this board for all things Burnley. Thank God is all I can say!!! The nonsense being spouted is at unseen levels.
Firstly we don't know what is going on, I was told that this exodus is agent driven and players wanting more money, or just to play in the Prem or back on the continent. Agents know the clauses in the players contracts so can assist in expediting the moves. Once a few go there is a ripple effect and others get shakey and also want out. It's clearly been tough.
The board are clearly trying to get in what they can to support Scott, who the players are very happy with.
It's been very tough.
A few start blaming AP and it snowballs into absolute vitriol, I don't know what has been said on socials, but some of the stuff on here is a disgrace, certainly until we know more, going off at the board isn't helpful. We can't go and sign players for 15 mill or from the prem for cash flow reasons and this transition was whilst expected in part has gone far past what was planned.
Lastly, daughter speaking up for dad who has been pelted this week - hardly unusual. She hasn't told anyone what to do, merely asked people to be kind, and then so many people kick off. Totally embarrassing. It's not rude, just asking people to not abuse her dad.
Questions should be asked but not coupled with abuse and unfounded allegations.
Mistakes have been made, Vinny had too much control. We should have got ahead of this exodus before it spiralled, but I suspect, Parker will be happy to see many go especially those who don't want to be here and will stink the place out. We have valuations for the players, and if they aren't met, they aren't leaving.
Everyone just chill out and save your fierce emotions for our neighbours on Saturday, use it to back the lads and make Turf Moor unpleasant for those in blue and white, not those at our club. (clearly I mean by staying within the law)

Re: Instagram
Pretty sure she was reacting to some of the responses to Weghorst's ludicrous video tribute to himself and his glorious career at Turf Moor.
Unsurprisingly some people on Instagram didn't get into the spirit and thank Wout for his tireless three years of loyal service.
She's right in that there is no need for people to be offensive or use foul language of course.
Twitter has some strong opponents of ALK but also has a large number of sycophants posting about 'Don Pace' and what a genius he is. You find all sorts online......

Re: Instagram
Some people really need to stay off social media. Other than this I don’t use it. Fakeness, abusive users, attention seekers and sensitive users that lap up the false praise but can’t take negative comments. Think this is ill advised, not a good impression and wrong about Wout. This transfer window tells us a lot about where many footballers loyalties are and what they really care about.

Wout was a cult hero here, the fans supported him more than most and what did that achieve? He f***ed off at the first opportunity 3 times.
If he loved the club he’d have seen the mess going on and stuck around to really pay back the fans who supported him.

In 4 month's we have had 3 big events....
Relegation - became clear it was happening, but still significant.
Kompany walked out. Clearly too much faith in him, no doubt the board will have learned their lesson, hopefully not to Scott's detriment.
Player exodus. Expected in part but driven by agents and players wanting cash.
Like it or not, we have debts and creditors to pay. As long as we can get back on an even keel (perhaps not in matched quality but in competitive levels) when this damned window closes, things will look far better.
Re: Instagram
And is it any wonder her dad is getting some stick, look at the absolute mess we are in, the squad has gone from one of the best in Championship history to an absolute stinking pile of dung in a matter of weeks.
We’ve raked in £140m in sales and we’re flat broke, scraping the barrel for loan players. Take in £40m for 3 wide players and replace them with loanees. The whole thing absolutely stinks.

Old enough to be married. They had her wedding when we had a match last time in the Championship. I am more worried about what will happen if we lose on Saturday. There is more than one person on Twitter that have said it will be toxic and advised Alan and the board it would be best if they didn't go.
Re: Instagram
If you want to put things right, a couple of big statement signings tomorrow will go some way to lifting spirits again.
Show me there’s an intent to get promoted because at the moment, I don’t see it.

And if we don't go up the loanees go back which leaves us short of players and no dosh. Loanees again the season after. Rinse and repeat.KRBFC wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:17 amAnd is it any wonder her dad is getting some stick, look at the absolute mess we are in, the squad has gone from one of the best in Championship history to an absolute stinking pile of dung in a matter of weeks.

I know it is the keyboard warriors but there are quite a lot of upset people/idiots who will be going. They might be more interested in the Rovers fans though

"Pile of dung" - get a grip for God's sake! With Cullen, Brownhill, Massengo and Hannibal we still have the best midfield options in the league.KRBFC wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:17 amAnd is it any wonder her dad is getting some stick, look at the absolute mess we are in, the squad has gone from one of the best in Championship history to an absolute stinking pile of dung in a matter of weeks.

Our defence is also very strong at this level, Hladky / Trafford, Roberts / Sambo, Esteve / Worrall / *Beyer / *Ekdal / CJER, Pires /** Humphries.
Wingers Anthony / ***Sarimento
****Upfront Foster / Jay/ Hountondji. more to come with luck.
* - injured
** - Humphries - was absolutely quality at Wolves. Easily one of the best in this league.
***Sarimento deal not completed... hopefully will be before 12 noon, if not 11pm.
**** Work needed upfront. Jay, as much as I love him is struggling for pace. Foster... depends where his head is at. If he has seen on socials what I have been told no wonder he is peed off. We are clearly trying to bring Players in that area.
On top of that, Ramsey, Tressor to come back and McDermott and Hugill look to have lots of potential. Adapt to where we are. We are paying debts off and maintaining a solid side.

I'm not sure things are as straight forward as you are making out. The mass exodus seemed to start after the What's App leak, why aren't we spending any decent money ? It's all very strange and it has absolutely left me furious, I think we need a DOF to help him out going forward - I'm still not going to abuse him and his family though.

Some of stuff the stuff posted on various sites at the players has been really poor for a long while, the one saving grace is the vast majority are nowhere near the ground on a matchday. The owners will always be fair game though they have been since day 1 for a lot of them.
The local club mentality is as strong as it has ever been.

You just need to look on twitter for some of the **** directed at Foster due to some very possibly made up transfer rumours to see maybe people need to have a bit of a think about what they're posting.

If my dad was Dick Turpin I wouldn’t want the party to stop either.
Re: Instagram
I actually agree with this. I don't care a toss what Pace's daughter thinks, what he seems to have done in the last few weeks is a disgrace if he doesn't reinvest some of the money today. Some seem to be being blinded by the idea of some potential loan signings but I'm not having that. Go and sign Whittaker with the money you quite clearly now have or someone else for decent money, not just a bunch of loans with options if we go up which looks very unlikely.KRBFC wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:17 amAnd is it any wonder her dad is getting some stick, look at the absolute mess we are in, the squad has gone from one of the best in Championship history to an absolute stinking pile of dung in a matter of weeks.

Re: Instagram
Genuine abuse and threatening behaviour should never be tolerated. Spreading unverified information online as if it's the gospel truth is really, really sad as well.
I still believe that the board, or those associated with the board, feel that they can act without opposition and that fans are viewed as an inconvenience at best and feel like they're shocked that people aren't happy about that (see basically every single one of Russell Ball's disastrous 'tweets' for evidence).
Call me old-fashioned, but I think transforming a financially secure 142year old community asset into a financially insecure investment vehicle with high risk, while using its infrastructure as collateral without personal liability, is pretty unethical behaviour as well.
Not to mention trying to bleed the supporters, from a very run down part of the Country for as much money as possible.
