Rawtenstall pubs/bars
Rawtenstall pubs/bars
It's a while since I've been out in Rawtenstall but I'm aware there's plenty of new places. Any recommendations? Cheers

Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
Northern Whisper Tap Room always a great stop. The market has plenty of good street food options as well and you can sit out there with a pint.
Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
The market is spot on, been to the Greek and Indian and both are licensed. Northern Whisper next door.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:32 pmNorthern Whisper Tap Room always a great stop. The market has plenty of good street food options as well and you can sit out there with a pint.
There is Casked opp the fire station, they have one in Rammy , it is a bit like an American dinner inside but the beer is good.
Never been but have driven past it a few times, Jackson’s Bar on Bacup Rd near the cricket club.
There’s always the bar on the station.

Market, Jackson’s Bar, Casked and Buffer Stops are all decent.
Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
Very nice place now is Rawtenstall, growing up the centre was a bit of a dump but most definitely upmarket now.i would imagine the house prices have gone up a notch are two also. Its all very nice but don’t expect much change out of £15 for two drinks in the line of northern whisper if your Mrs is on gins etc.£6 a pint in these type of places.

Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
Great list above, though would absolutely not describe Casked as "American diner" decor? It's got botihs on one side and tables on the next like a normal bar haha. Great spot and owner is a gent.
Northern Whisper always a good pint. They have the majority of their main been on cask and well as draught. Get a NZ NEIPA on caske, bloody lovely.
Food from the market to match. Great Friday night.

Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
While most places are too classy for a Spoons , It’s not often you’d ever hear “ Classy “ and “ Rawtenstall “ in the same sentence ! Though it was always the “ decent looking one” in the Rossy Triumvirate , and great to see some decent ish new bars getting a foothold . Hellishly hard to turn a passable profit on mainly wet sales even with trendy prices.
It certainly beats the fistfights and brawls of The Queens, Sun and Crown that’s for sure .

Rawtenstall is a stunning little town nowadays my favourite bars are The Hop & Casked, the couple who run
Casked are lovely hosts they also have a Casked in Ramsbottom ....I love my trips home,Asda is still an eyesore though whoever gave permission for that carbuncle smack in the town center needs a slap.

Hop has a nice sun trap outdoor area downstairs at the back too. Jackson’s usually has TT’s Landlord on.
Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
Well besides ASDA you could add putting the fire station in the middle of a roundabout on an island where 5 roads and three streets lead to it was pretty poor planning too. Mind traffic has really increased in the last few years and is now a blight on the town. Pity because the town otherwise, despite being overbuilt has plenty to offer.Steve1956 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:25 pmRawtenstall is a stunning little town nowadays my favourite bars are The Hop & Casked, the couple who run

The Bermuda Triangle....super nights in those 3 pubs back in the 70s/80s...strangely the worst of the 3 is the only one that remains albeit under another disguise.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:05 pm

Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
My other half manages the Casked at Rammy. She makes a great pizza and they're half price on a Wednesday, 2 for 1 on a Sunday so just a fiver per pizza. Top beer tooSteve1956 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:25 pmRawtenstall is a stunning little town nowadays my favourite bars are The Hop & Casked, the couple who run

Rawtenstall hasn’t got a population large enough for a Wetherspoons.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:40 pmKind of surprised Rawtenstall doesnt have a Wetherspoons, although im not sure where they would put one
Re: Rawtenstall pubs/bars
The Guzzling Pig on Kay Street is a nice bar also ...
