Lancs League 1/9/2024
12 points for Darwen and Burnley but a close call for Burnley who were 9 wickets down chasing just 74 to win.

Burnley Cricket Club
Won by the skin of their teeth. Littleborough 75 all out. Burnley got the revised target of 74 for the loss of 9 wickets. Winning run was a wide ! Boro sun pro Gohar took 7 wickets then surprisingly was taken out of the attack. Injury maybe.
Darwen also got a 12 point win so by my reckoning Burnley are still ahead before next week’s Championship decider at Darwen

There are usually post after post on how the Power House are doing but seems not today, the CPCC now top of the League, beating Littleborough and was never in doubt. Has PH lost interest in the title race? CPCC may win next week or may not but the PH boys will be back if they lose be rest assured.

Tremendous game at Burnley today with some top notch
banter from Littleborough's wind up merchants who touched a nerve with the locals
As someone with a foot in both camps, it was the perfect outcome. Littleborough stay up and Burnley in the box seat to win it. For once, the LCC sub pro earned his fee. And congratulations to Burnley 2nds on their league win!

How about the exciting battle for the Championship between a Burnley team and a Blackburn team ?Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:13 pmGrow up, the game was abandoned what would you like us to discuss?

Had he not bowled his full quota? Cracking game with a satisfactory outcome for both teams. Boro stay upFCBurnley wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:37 pmWon by the skin of their teeth. Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Possibly he had and the same with Willman. I was watching the live stream ( no commentary) on you tube until some idiot decided to adjust the camera and stopped it working ! So difficult to follow the stats etc. As you say a perfect result for both teams
According to Lancs League tables we lead by 6 points ( I thought it was 5 ) Either way I think whoever wins next week are Champions. I guess a wash out would be ok but tbh would rather win it on the field

Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Just like us BFC fans would want to discuss the in and out's of a title race between the horse botherers and the inferior ones from Preston other than how they would like both to be unsuccessful.
If we can't win it then I would prefer Burnley to a Blackburn side (even if it is Darwen rather than Blackburn), but would rather see, say, Rawtenstall, Nelson or Colne win it instead of the Turf Moor mob.

Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Grow up, really! I saw game was abandoned but there wasn't the usual commentary from the PH fans around the first innings. Perhaps it's holiday season. Not fussed either way but CPCC has taken some stick all season about support etc but they go into the last game top of the League. As CT says it would be great if Burnley/LH keep the trophies this side of East Lancashire

Old enough I am proud of the CPCC tag as that was given to us by Somethingfishy, Power House is Lowerhouse fans term of their own. So no need to grow up thank you.

Cheers for the name check but I'm not taking credit for it. No idea where it started but trust me there is a lot more people than me that use it. What is funny is how much it's got under your skin to bring it up.Blue Skies wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:13 pmOld enough I am proud of the CPCC tag as that was given to us by Somethingfishy, Power House is Lowerhouse fans term of their own. It is a very appropriate name though isn't it?

Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Absolutely - without doubt two completely different clubs in the way they are run but over recent years both have clearly put out really good teams which has been reflected in the number of trophies won. Undoubtedly the best two teams now from the original fourteen in the Lancashire League.Blue Skies wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:03 pmAs CT says it would be great if Burnley/LH keep the trophies this side of East Lancashire
Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Back in the 1990's/2000's, "Powerhouse" always came up (on my computer and no doubt on many more) as the standard spellcheck suggestion for Lowerhouse. I'm sure that's where the name came from, especially as back then it was supremely ironic because Lowerhouse had never won anything.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:44 pmCheers for the name check but I'm not taking credit for it. Ale House is probably more appropriate. If BCC get their money from car parking then LH certainly get plenty from selling ale. Each to their own I guess

Re: Lancs League 1/9/2024
Isn't that the traditional way Lancashire League clubs have made their money? Bar takings? I would say it's the number one income stream at the majority of clubs. Clitheroe certainly do at over £6 a pint
