Sunflower lanyards

Post by Massivefloodlights » Mon Sep 16, 2024 3:54 pm

Hi everyone

I post on here from time to time (mostly stupid one liners), but I have a serious question to ask!

Does anyone here wear a sunflower lanyard, or have experience of it? I ask because I have a condition that it would potentially help with.

Might explain to those who sit near me why I randomly put my headphones on during games, though that’s usually when the moaning got too much last season

For those who don’t know what sunflower lanyards are all about, you can find out more info here:

My daughter does the same, whilst wearing a lanyard.
Sad to say they shouldn't be needed, but helps divert a good proportion of caveman bile coming her way, so it helps in that regard I'd say. Its more of a "stop, think" prompt I'd say.

I’d never heard of them but what a good idea. So many disabilities aren’t visible.

Neither had I, Tony.

I don’t recall ever seeing one and if I had, it wouldn’t have meant anything to me, so I’m pleased to now be aware.

I only became aware of them during Covid when they were used by some for either advising they had a condition that made wearing a mask not possible or that they are extra vulnerable.

Great idea.

My daughter wears it for her Tourette’s, when she thinks others may need to be aware, but feels that it has lost some of its meaning due to people wearing it during covid to avoid wearing masks.

My autistic son has one with his ear defenders connected to it. He used to use them all the time, going to the shops etc or anywhere noisy but now he has learnt he can cope with it now that he is older. He still wears them at footy though if he needs to, and the other fans around us in the CFS were all inquisitive and respected it which was great.

They were definitely more prominent during Covid but I do still see a few people wearing them. I think they’re a really cracking idea - shouldn’t be needed as others have pointed out but a good idea nonetheless.

I'm amazed the cavemen know the meaning of it
Anything that helps is a good idea

I wore mine during the COVID lockdowns and found it extremely useful.
