Playa blanca - lanzarote
Playa blanca - lanzarote
Just a quick request - a late holiday this year due to family circumstances. But off to Playa Blanca on Sunday with the Duchess - looks like we have 2 televised games whilst I'm away - never been there before, so does anyone know any bars likely to show championship games?
Thanks in advance

Popeye's sports bar will put it on BUT I would request in advance (e.g. the day before), and they may not if it clashes with a big Prem game.

Been a few times, there are lots of bars on the front, I've never had a problem finding one with us on.

P.S> They serve the beer in tankards straight out of the freezer. Brilliant!

Not able to help with regards to bars, but very jealous… Been a couple of times and really like it there. Great for running!

It's a few years since I went, we stayed in the Rubicon Palace, to the west of the resort. There are a few "lively" looking happy hour sports bars near the industrial/ferry port. We didn't try them, but they looked like they'd have football on.

Biker's Beach Club will have it on. Decent bar, watched us in there against Villa a few years back.

I was last up there a few years back on Boxing Day, an hour or so before DCL headed the winner against us for Everton. I wish I’d stayed up at the top!Leon_C wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 10:46 amIt's a few years since I went, we stayed in the Rubicon Palace, to the west of the resort. love playa blanca, one of my favourite places. there was a bar called the Terrace Bar that had burnley fans in, but i believe it may have closed.
popeyes is a good shout, and will usually accommodate if you ask in advance, especially at quieter times of the year

Galleria Bar is my favourite to watch footy in PB. If there is a Peem game on just ask them to put Clarets game on also as they have other TVs at the back of the bar.

Love the Rubicón palace, we always stay in the villas not the main hotel, also love the boat restaurant floating in one of the swimming poolsLeon_C wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 10:46 amIt's a few years since I went, we stayed in the Rubicon Palace, to the west of the resort. Not stayed in Plata Blanca but been to Lanzarote several times. Only on my last visit did I hire a car and do much more than the r & r. I instantly regretted not having done all this stuff earlier so a few suggestions you didn't ask for. Feel free to ignore completely
Highly recommend Timanfaya and the 45 minute bus tour around the main lava fields - spectacular.
Cesar Manrique Institute / History former house is a great visit if you have a modicum of interest in art or architecture.
James Del Agua / Cactus Garden are close to each other and both a nice visit.
Jeep safari is another great way to get around and see and learn about the island if you don't hire a car.
Enjoy the holiday.
