Sunderland look the better team but they are taking chances. Hull will get it right at some point going forward.

Goal aloud ,if they’d have disallowed that it would be scandalous Silva was nearly bent down.

Not sure why sky are saying it was controversial. Should be given all day tbh.

The nudge is immaterial as he wasn't offside at that point

weird one, he's out of the way for the header but the keeper has to push Silva out of the way. VAR should have showed him that part of the play too and didn't. He 100% interfered with the keeper as the cross came in but not at the point of the header. I think it should have been ruled out

Spot on-Trafford was nearly barged off the pitch when Luton drew last year at the Turf and the goal was still allowed.
Very little was done to put the Wolves keeper off and not one Wolves defender complained at the time

When was the last time a ref overruled the VAR? I’d have bet it would favour City when it happened again.

I won’t ask if Atwell is ever wrong - that would be rhetorical.

Absolutely no chance.

What are you ruling it out for, a foul? If that is the case then barely any goal would be scored from a corner.

He can’t be offside from the corner, only when Stones heads it. And he’s well out the way by then.

I'm struggling with this one. Phil Bird is saying it was a massive error by the ref. But surely the interference only comes into play when he was in an offside position. Once the header happens, silva becomes active, but at that point he ducked and moved away from the danger zone

I'm arguing the keeper isn't set and cannot be set because Silva is bumping into him. I don't think it's an argument the ref can win, I can see a reason to allow it (I agree with what you said) and disallow it. I'll add, if that's at the Etihad and it's scored by Wolves then it gets ruled out

This is spot on, for me. Player only becomes ‘active’ when Stones makes contact with the header. From this point, no interference therefore goal correctly stood.

Shows how difficult it is for refs with stuff like this to be consistent, another ref would have ruled it out no doubt.

I'm arguing that it's part of the game (like it or not), Wolves have to take full responsibility for not protecting the keeper by putting a man in front of him.

What Bernardo did is standard in any game, he wasn't offside when he did it and was out of the way when Stones headed the ball. We can't start changing the interpretation of the laws when we see fit.

This goal is given every weekend, it seems to be different here because it is City.

Compared with Arseholes goal at City and Luton’s goal at the Turf Silva was powderpuff against their keeper
Please ref stuck to his guns

disagree with that 100% when you've got the likes of Rob Jones giving Saliba a yellow card for the most clear and obvious red you will see all season.

You knew city would win that game as soon as Wolves took an early lead. Premier League football is extremely predictable, to the point of being boring now.

It's now a drop ball if the ref touches the ball, even if it's slight

So how is that not a drop ball when the ref undoubtedly directly affects the play?

I'm surprised that cretin Bobby Madley is allowed to referee at all after his indiscretions, let alone affect play to that extent.

I think you are missing my point, if this game was Bournemouth vs Ipswich they'd have gone back to the studio and said.....'Next on Super Sunday is Liverpool vs Chelsea', they would barely have given it a second mention.

I didn't say he did

My point is that any touch by the ref is now a drop ball because of the possible effect on play. It therefore seems illogical that if a ref affects play but doesn't touch the ball, then it's play on

Bit late on this one. I don’t think the Wolves goalie would have saved Stones header without the involvement of Silva so I’m happy the goal stood.
