Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Let's see how it plays out, but it's totally fair to say that these look to be poor decisions after Saturday.

No Sarmiento in squad either. Bench doesn’t look brilliant for attacking options.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Time will tell but I think Hull look like a decent side and I'd have probably gone with Laurent in the team for this one.

Serious lack of defensive aerial capability tonight.

Let the whinging begin.
Its called squad rotation....and after Kompany's debacle it's almost certainly a good thing.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Sorry but hannibal has offered nothing at all and does not deserve to start ahead of Laurent. The bench is lacking creativity too. I can only hope he plans on playing brownhill further forward instead of hannibal because it won’t work otherwise.

Not exactly surprising he has changed a couple given he admitted he made a mistake for PNE after 2 games in the week. He’s mixing it up with some freshness. Also keeps everyone on their toes.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Id rather see Cullen rested , not what I was expecting after Saturday, play your strongest 11

I don’t often go on these threads and I’m thankful given all the negativity already on the team news.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
My guess he's deliberately rotating given 3 games in 7 days and that in certain positions he has plenty of options to do just that. However, after an excellent performance on Saturday, will he be proved right?? We'll see.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Surprised about Laurent, but Hannibal has been ok.
If he links up with Koleosho, as he can it is a positive.
He needs to make sure he gets in the box as Laurent did on Saturday, and still get back to break up play. A big job to fill.

It is quite worrying that SP can't see we are a much better team with Laurent on the pitch

No problem with rotation in principle, if it's done right. Hopefully wrong but not convinced he has tonight.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 6:56 pm3 games in a week he’s rotating the squad a little no problem with it at all

Whinging already?
Seems to me there are far too many desperate for SP to fall on his arse….
He’s the manager, he does what he wants, and rightly so. Stop ya skriking and get behind him. Or don’t, but ffs take your “support” elsewhere cos I for one am sick of reading your shite…

With Sarmiento missing and Trevor not on bench or getting fitness in the U21 games I am starting to think we will never see him again .He has been training on grass for one hell of a long time

There’s no way you’d have adopted that attitude with VK last season.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 6:59 pmI think he can see a hell of a lot better than you or me.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Sarmiento added to the seemingly ever growing injury list then? We must have the most in the league.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Of course he can, he's a manager.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 6:59 pmI think he can see a hell of a lot better than you or me.
Let's not get back to this whole managers can't be questioned thing that we had under Kompany. I believe Parker has done a great job, my support for him is not based on wether Laurent starts today, but as a supporter my opinion is it looks like a bad decision.
I'm happy to put that out there before the game and be possibly proven wrong, there's no negativity in it- just my general observation.
People seem to be very quick to shut anything down as bad or good on here as if there can be no debate within.

The nastiness and swearing you get for posting something that someone else doesn't agree is the real issue on this message board.summitclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 7:02 pmAbsolutely not crap. Looking like only opinions that suit are wanted.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
There is a difference between expressing an opinion and whinging. It seems a few don't realise that.
Anyway, I think Laurent deserved to keep the shirt after a good performance Saturday, call me old fashioned. Also after watching Sunday's game I think we'll need someone to break up play. But in Parker we trust.
Can I say that guys?

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
In the number 10 role, he goes missing. If you swap him and brownhill around, it could work but doesn’t link the midfield and attack enough for me. Could be different with Fleming ahead of him instead of foster mind.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 7:04 pm“Hannibal has offered nothing at all”

I’d have still started Laurent. Let’s wait and see.

Parker always said he will play different teams for different opposition. It should not be a surprise we have rotated.

I guess opinions are not welcomed by CT unless of course he agrees with them.

Some of us can't believe Laurant gets dropped after a MOM performance and some think that's whinging and anti Parker !....blimey.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Hope this doesn’t backfire. Still a strong enough team to beat hull. Just worry about the attacking midfield with these 3 all playing central midfield
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I'd always like to see an in form player retain his place, but with games coming thick and fast it is necessary to rotate things. We have the strength (in the main) to do so.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I gave up long ago on Tresor he doesn't want to be here.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Only gripe I have with that line up is that we are have a big hole in our attacking backups at present. It's nobodies fault, can't legislate for injuries but a 97 year old J-Rod, an untried Agyei and and Hountondji not quite up to speed yet is a real weakness. Hopefully we have enough on the pitch to put them to the sword as I am not sure we have anyone who can meaningfully change the dynamic if we need to.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Hannibal didn't deserve to miss out after being the best Burnley player on the park after Preston, but guess what.
Three games in 8 days, centre midfield is an area of the team where we have options, no problem with him making a change.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I would always go with best X1 and Saturdays side has to be very close to that but SP knows stuff folk on here don’t. Knocks and tiredness for example. Fat lad at the bar will be saying they can play every 3 days, problem being they can’t and it’s a 46 match season. He’ll have picked the side that he thinks can get a result. He doesn’t pick a side to lose in our position.
