Christ that was boring.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Koleosho needs to learn that there's a simple option. When he gets it he tries to do way too much - he's predictable in that respect.
It's part of the learning curve for any winger, you have to vary it up and not try for a highlight reel every time.
Whatever we are doing with Hannibal isn't working. Either bring Sarmiento on for him or Hountondji and drop Flemming in behind him.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Our form is awful, just when we think we've turned a corner we are flat as a fart again.
I understand rotation, but surely the players coming in are expected to keep the shape and pressure.
Really unlucky deflection, but given a free shot, no pressure from a Burnley player, and that's exactly what Laurent offers us.
I'd make a couple of changes, but whatever we have to play a lot faster tempo, and get bloody players in the box. Flemming is no more capable of doing it all on his own than Foster. It's ridiculous that we ask him to.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Some good, some bad and some ugly.
For decent periods our build up has been as coherent as I've seen it all season, with the full backs and midfield rotating nicely, but we've been careless too often in playing out, and boy has our decision making and quality of pass in the final third been poor.
You'd think it might have been worth swapping Koleosho and Anthony round for 10 minutes and I still don't think Hannibal works in that more advanced role. He and Brownhill make sense the opposite way round.

Hull were very happy to sit back and let Sunderland have it on Sunday, so playing somebody who can operate in that position with the actual football should have been the first thought.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Rubbish half after a positive start. Too slow, too safe in attacking areas but bizarrely the opposite in our own box, sloppy passing, poor decision making. Need a much better half after the break because we know from experience it will be even more difficult to score now we’re behind.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I don't think so, but it's definitely not good and hopefully SP sees the same and makes some effective changes123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:42 pmWorst half of football of the season, even worse than Sunderland

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Anybody got any idea what tactics we are employing in order to actually score? I'm mystified by the complete lack of penetration. Even when we get a chance on the break we seem determined to slow it down amd then just pass it across the pitch
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy keeping it moving and holding the ball. But that has to result in some sort of opening developing eventually. Otherwise what's the point?

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Exactly this, and it’s worked. Hannibal is doing an ugly but brilliant job.
Just nothing to back him up.

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I mentioned earlier about us playing slow and Hannibal doesn’t help in that respect. He plays like a Spaniard or Italian, he wants to get the ball down and have a look around. Laurent pushes us forward and brings others forward with him.
Add Sarmiento for Koleosho, it’s time to give Sarmiento a starting run. Luca has done nothing most of the season to justify starting every game.

Dull ....again,wouldn't like to be paying good money to watch us this season
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
Absolutely appalling again, look at the away end too, half full. Under Kompany it was full. The away attendances must be a concern.

Correct123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:21 pmFlemming looking like foster, complete passenger because we are getting ball nowhere near him
Hannibal and Brownhill can not play together in midfield the whole shape in there is awful, add in the fact Luca K is playing terribly, Anthony and Pires have no combinations and we cant pass a ball with any pace / zip, Flemming now and Foster before are on a hiding to nothing
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I think most of these players are taking the mickey out of us fans. How they can call themselves professionals is laughable. That was absolutely abysmal, including the manager's starting XI. If there are no changes and reactions early in the 2nd half then we got issues in-house coz that was, once again, utter garbage from most, excluding Flemming coz he's getting nothing.

We lack composure and getting the ball forward and building attacks. Very frustrating half to witness that

The ball for their deflected goal carries on on a straight trajectory from the initial shot, it's just poor keeping from Trafford unfortunately

What happened with the goal ? Was Trafford blindsided ?

I am pretty positive normally but I can't see what we are trying to do in possession. This is some of the worst passing from a Burnley side in years.

Turns out every striker we have looks lost and ineffective in front of this particular version of our midfield.

From the replay he initially reacts to the shot and doesn’t seem to see it deflecting and he was blindsided as it came through to himThe Shire Claret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:48 pmWhat happened with the goal ? Was Trafford blindsided ?

Didn't Parker say he wanted to play exciting attacking football? I am still waiting.

Foster doesn't look lost. He looks down, and then drives straight forward.agreenwood wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:49 pmTurns out every striker we have looks lost and ineffective in front of this particular version of our midfield.

Brownhill and Hannibal just get in each others way, because they play the same way. It just doesn't work.Neither is at fault, it's just the way it is.
The best teams have partnerships that work. Mee and Tarkowski, Vokes and Ings, Marney and Jones. We're fine at CH, but really struggling to find partnerships anywhere else

Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
I’d be bringing Hountondji or Jay on and dropping Flemming into the actual 10 area (Hannibal isn’t playing there) to provide better link up.

No I’m having a pop at the way we are utilising our full backs. Roberts is obviously being told to play that way.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:39 pmAre you having a pop at Roberts? He’s been our best player by a street.

In a flash they attack. Trafford air shot.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
still aways to go, let SP do his magic, see how the HT talk goes and when he does make changes, how telling are the results. Poor game, but there has to be hope for improvements on that surely, I'm going to say we win this and hopefully all learn something along the way.
Re: Match Thread - Hull v Burnley 7.45pm KO
No impetus first half. Let's hope we add some zing
