I think he should. He’s having a torrid run of form and if it wasn’t for the Leeds goal, I think he’d have been dropped sooner.

There’s some posts on here that has made me question if I’m watching the same player, but I know what I see with my eyes.

There’s a common theme of him occupying numerous defenders, that’s great, any half decent winger in this league will. It’s what you do at that point, misplacing passes, terrible touches, running into more congestion, it’s like every decision is the wrong one atm. I guarantee that if Sarmiento was on that side, he would occupy the same amount of defenders, but the output would be better.

SP needs to coach that side of his game, his decision making. If those offers of £30m or whatever it was are still present in January, I’d be snapping their hands off.

I'm with you other than thinking Sarmiento is going to significantly improve matters. I've seen nothing from him that makes me think he'll be a top end championship/any level of PL player so far.

Would shift him over to the left and get him running off the shoulder rather than carrying or trying to create.

As much as I've been very critical of him, I wouldn't drop him yet. He's better on the left. And with an overlapping Pires could be very effective when he comes inside. Does potentially make us defensively vulnerable on that side though

Anthony is a much better crosser and would be fine on the right with Roberts I think

I also think Sarmiento hasnt quite shown his quality yet. He looks a very intelligent footballer to me

He needs a rest. Mentally looks shot. Confidence gone. He’s a kid and shouldn’t be exposed for all his mistakes whilst learning.

for me, multiple answers, I really don't think it's a simple yes or no. He is an exciting player and expectations are high, I think many have expectation to high, and therefore for them it's a knee jerk, yes drop him. There could be some arguments for this, long season, time for a rest, pick the opposition to leave him out. Will we be any better for doing that against certain opposition, personally I don't think so.

I do agree he is not performing to the standard expected, flatters to deceive in certain points of the game and poor end product. Is this because he's on the right, perhaps, he certainly doesn't look comfortable coming inside to shoot or pass, which is very frustrating for everyone! Yet SP must see him as the natural, out of our left footed wingers, to play on the right, but how long will he persist, as he must also see the problem along with his coaching staff??

My thoughts during games, is to get him off as he is often ineffective, but who replaces him to occupy that right wing, we can't just give up and threat from there, and often teams are doubling up on him. I'm beginning to think that he needs a run on the left soon, but SP needs to be sure of what happens on the right, could a down the middle role suit, I'm not sure and feel that's a big ask, the right still needs addressing.

Just some random musings on a Friday.

As Roosterbooster says he’s much better on the right ,when he cuts inside on the right he runs into traffic hi he’s on the left he only needs to get past his man and he’s on the dead ball line and only needs a couple of good crosses and we’re in business.

Still looks a bigger threat on the left.

He’s a miles better player on the left, we all know this yet Parker keeps persisting with him on the right.

He was a lot better today but still a long way off what we got at the start of last season.

Did some good defensive work today, but I’m still unconvinced that our current wingers are an upgrade on those when we were last in this league.

I think I’ve seen enough from Koleosho now to know where we stand with him.

He’s very very raw, he needs to be benched for his own good. His final ball is genuinely shocking for someone of his talent.

Bring him on as a impact sub and see how he gets on from there

Unconvinced?

I'm absolutely convinced. Our current wingers are nowhere near as good as last time we were in this league

I thought that. Put him down the middle and play balls over the top, he'd get to most and eventually score.

Seriously couldn't be any worse than what it was we reckoned to be doing today.

Is it finally time to see what Tresor might be able to do, he must be near to fitness now.

His stats in Belgium were better than Benson and Zaroury, he’s represented Belgium at every level, so surely, if we can get him motivated, he should be able to offer some quality in the Championship.

I don’t think we will see Tressor in a Burnley shirt again.

Wasn’t it suggested at the Q&A that he was a few weeks away from being in contention?

Two crosses in today which is an improvement. Good defensive work. Continued to cut inside when moved to the left.
I do think he needs a rest

As it stands right now I think I would start Agyei at least that seems to be his actual position

Sarmiento doesn’t appear as dangerous but seems to have for more end product, if he’s fit we should shake it up & see.

Along with returning Josh L to the midfield.
Unfortunately I think Sarmiento has joined the long list of injured players so not an option yesterday. When he is fit it's time to give Koleosho the 'Benny' role and bring him on at 70 for impact.

Not really sure what happened in the summer. I wish we had more time to assess the squad and who was staying and going, as not selling Foster and Koleosho now looks to be a mistake. I get why we didn't, as we sold so many in a short space of time and had no time to get others in, but neither are playing to their valuations, not by a long shot.

Zaroury is a better player and we sold him for peanuts. Koleasho 40 million. The mind boggles

I think the 40 million ship has sailed after his performances this season.

Most definitely. He’s not worth 10. I don’t think I’ve seen a winger like him since Brad Maylett. All pace. Literally that’s all he has.

Someone should explain the concept of the give and go to him. He’s young so I don’t want to be overly critical, but he always wants the ball to his feet and refuses to run in behind, he constantly dribbles into trouble rather than using the fact that he’s occupied 2-3 opposition players so therefore we have an overload elsewhere, his final ball is poor. He has quick feet and pace, but he rarely uses either effectively. He also looks like a bit of a sulker and his head can drop very early into a game. Must do better.
