Criminal result. Need to be asking serious questions about Parker now. Plays 2 holding midfielder in front of the back 4 at home to bottom of the league. Dross

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
I think I've said it fince the end of the window....where are our goals coming from?
Just can't see anyone capable of attacking crosses or capable of scoring set pieces or, for that matter, shooting from distance.
Keep in the chase until the window and hope the owners have someone lined up.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
Tempo second half was way too low. Not enough options on the bench. Transfer window shambles catching up here. We can talk tactics all we want but if your options off the bench are a full back, an ancient striker and a kid whose played square root of **** all then you are not equipped to compete at the top end. This is on Pace.

Excellent disciplined QPR defence, well organised, very very hard to play against that.

Steve Cotterill could do more with this squad
Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
Frustrating but fair play to QPR, they parked the bus and parked it very well. We need some players back asap.

No, not at all…

Someone mentioned it was the worst football since Cotterill and was shot down.
I’m starting to think they were correct.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
We are so, so easy to defend against. The ball is moved so slowly, no one ever takes a risk with a pass. If you know that as a back 4, you're in for an easy afternoon. Another clean sheet, but we have to be more ambitious. I didn't see much of the first half to be fair, but the second was dire.

Shite. Gotta feel for SP he was dealt a shocking hand. Nobody on the books looks like they can score regularly and a total lack of decent creativity. Solid defence and sneaking the odd win will keep us in it but roll on January.
Re: my earlier post about Koleosho it looks like I was correct he has fast legs but not fast feet. He needs to be up to speed before he gets to the FB then go straight past him. He’s not Jimmy Mac when he’s stationary with a FB fronting him up he loses it.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
Naturally, we ran out of steam 2nd half with it being our 3rd game in 7 days, and we saw why subs weren't made earlier: the lot of them were embarrassing when they came on. This is what happens when you have such squad carnage and turnover. As someone has already said, this is on Pace and the way the club is run.

I keep saying it. You have to play with tempo when teams sit in to move them around. We are too slow in our build up which makes it easy for them.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
We dont have the necessary quality to sustain a serious challenge. We have done well to get to our points total but I am seeing a trend now. Unable to beat the likes of Preston, Hull and QPR, when teams like Sunderland ,Leeds and Sheff Utd put these sides to the sword. When you look at our strike force of Foster, Jay and Hountonji its laughable compared to the teams listed above. Looking at our sicklist on the bench which featured on this thread it really winds me up that their mobiles are more important than the game. And with no one having a clue to the state of play re Tresor then there is more to worry about than just our performances

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
I really hope Pace is as worried as he looked today.
Promotion really is crucial in the next two seasons and these performances will not achieve it.
The crowds will turn before or during christmas with this repeated level of creativity or lack of.
Today is the norm, not a one off

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
Yes, but they hardly had to be excellently disciplined…….we had the ball, laboured with movement and every time allowed them back into position……..I could have played in their back 4……and I’m fat, legs have gone…….and 62!It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 4:55 pmExcellent disciplined QPR defence, well organised, very very hard to play against that.

If results are the be all and end all to you, then there's no problem here is there? We're doing great to be ekeing out results and staying in touch with the pack with many of our first teamers out.
If you value excitement, you want to feel like you are on the edge of your seat and your heart rate increasing...well, it's not good is it?

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
I think people are moaning because they can't understand (and nor can I) why we keep playing with two defensive midfielders at home against the bottom teams. They are sitting in so why do we need to do it. Go more attacking and give them something to worry about. And up the bloody tempo!

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
People previously stated on here that the necessity to get promotion was **** fans and their ridiculous levels of entitlement. We need promotion because of the ownership model. Their bad decisions over three transfer windows is now directly threatening the future of the club. I'm not for blaming Parker, I'm all for pointing at the owners and their idiocy. The summer transfer window was a ******* shambles.grapidianclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:04 pmI really hope Pace is as worried as he looked today.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
Awful football and awful tactics, obsessed with players out of position.
Esteve could genuinely defend on his own today yet we’re insisting on 3 defensive midfielders infront of him, Roberts even inverted today to make it 4 defensive players in midfield.
You then bring on Jay Rodriguez and play him right wing.
Every man and his dog knows Luca is better off the left yet he’s letting him stagnate and hanging him out to dry on the right.

Some of us couldn’t get on today so was it better viewing watching it on the Turf? rather than on a Firestick, must be something wrong with my tv if it was.

It wasn't a bad performance, just no goals which is a shame. On another day that could have been 4-0Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:45 pmSome of us couldn’t get on today so was it better viewing watching it on the Turf? rather than on a Firestick, must be something wrong with my tv if it was.

Re: Match Thread vs QPR (Home)
It's not all Parker's fault that we're overloaded in numerous positions, but yet we have very few options when it comes to strikers. Plus, teams like QPR will get football done away with if they constantly get away with never crossing the half way line and playing games of "attack and defence"! BUT, if Burnley are at all serious about promotion, we really have to be breaking these teams down and winning these matches.Today wasn't the first and the way things are looking it's not going to be the last where we are cordially invited to "come on and let's see what you're made of". Oxford away was a carbon copy and you get one, maybe two clear chances all game. Score them and you're topping the league. Fluff them and you're an also ran. The free header from the corner in the first half was not only crucial, it was criminal!! Disappointed and extremely worried!
