If I didn't have a season ticket
If I didn't have a season ticket
Not sure I'd pay to watch that. Cotterill revisited. OK league position is good but to pay good money per game for that ?

Just admit it we’re rubbish
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
I’m sorry I must have been at a different match than the OP. I get we don’t score but the football today was really good and I think the team has clicked and can pass the ball with confidence knowing where their team mate will be and concentrate on there run after the pass. Some of the quick passing around their players was fantastic to watch. I will agree that in the final 3rd it’s not working, but if the rumoured 18 shots is correct it is not for the want of trying. Sometimes you can absolutely annihilate teams but it just won’t go in and that was us today.

Must admit, on hols end of next week to Gran Canaria and usually would have been miffed at missing a match………..whilst I’ll still try to find somewhere to watch, I’m really looking forward to hols and just not bothered about missing another 90 minutes of yawn……….

Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
Have you a season ticket ? I have had one for 50 plus years, the point is would you pay 30 plus quid to watch that again ? If I was a walk on I'm not sure I would. You are entitled to be critical you know.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:59 pmI’m sorry I must have been at a different match than the OP. Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
Yes I am mate and pay for 3 other family members season tickets too, however I don’t think that’s a marker for if our opinions account for more or less than anyone else’s. Truth is if you attend a match, you see a lot more than what is on TV, as I am sure you will agree. Today was the best football we have played all season, and as you say you are 50+ years on the match, I’m sure you can remember many times us getting absolutely hammered but come away with a nil nil. Play the same game as we did today 100 times and I think 99 of them end in a convincing win. It’s just one of those days which you must have seen many of before.
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
But the point is we have signed up for the season so come hell or high water we will be back on, if I was buying a ticket per game I'd need to see more goals to justify laying out 30 plus quid for the next game.
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
Do you want to sell your season ticket, or just want to moan?
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
Fair enough. Each to their own, for me I see progression, but I suppose a walk on would want instant success to walk away with value for money. That said some of the football especially the passing was fantastic today.

Don't go if you don't like it, simple. I'd not spend my weekend following something I didn't enjoy
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
First season for years i haven't had a season ticket, paid 40 quid today in Bob Lord. Starting to think i don't enjoy it enough to justify paying that much, especially when you factor in the amount of TV games, lack of atmosphere etc.

Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
I really don't get this prevailing negativity about today. We were on the Sheffield game and the result didn't reflect our performance, we scabbed a win somehow. The Hull game, passing was equally dreadful but we got a point. Today was a MASSIVE improvement. We were putting them under tonnes of pressure, constant positive attack rather than setting up to defend. I thought Koleosho should be dropped until I saw today how his passing accuracy had improved and his partnership with Laurent worked well. I think if you watched the two previous away matches, today was much more enjoyable in the context of seeing improvement. We need more striking talent up taking shots on target but I have no reason to think we won't get better. Football is a results game, not a west end show or rock concert. You can see all the entertaining play you want but it's results that matter. Of course you have a right to moan and be negative but I can't see how negativity helps the team. I prefer away matches so much more. People are there to support the team rather than sit on their arses waiting to be entertained. Is the vibe better in the cricket field? I sit amongst a load of miserable sods who would wait for hell to freeze over before shouting and singing for their team.

Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
I can not believe how many negative fans we have these days
Also how many have forgotten that teams won’t come here to let us just win ….
We did everything but score yesterday and played some great stuff.
Burnley did this for years in the PL against teams like us that were better
It will come where we find the formula to break the bus parking but it’s never easy
Against these teams once the first one goes in, it’s game over for them
QPR defended with their lives which is the respect these teams have for us
People don’t have to buy a ticket and if I was spending £40 plus beer food just to come away after that and moan
I wouldn’t go

Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
It was noticeable how many empty seats there were around the ground today. Although it is half-term.
Re: If I didn't have a season ticket
I enjoyed the play today. We were much quicker, shining the ball and taking on players.
The lack of people waiting in the box, to secure the final desired outcome, is the issue.
We had Kompa5who played Ashley Barnes on the edge of the box, as a vehicle for the next pass. Not a striker at all. Lots of our Kompany goals come from wingers cutting in and shooting from a distance. Hardly any tap inside. That is a huge risk.
Now we have Mr P bringing on Jay Rodriguez and doing the same. None or 1 or 2 in the box is not good enough. We will never get a tap in!
