Well I don’t know who applied for the job, but Parker wasn’t even on my radar until we more or less appointed him.

People will scoff, but I’d have taken Lampard ahead of him.
Likewise, I wasn't aware of Parker as an option. The question was asked on the premise that you had a number of coaches ahead of him (regardless of whether they had applied). I would have been interested in Rosenior but I see a manager trying to make it work and not doing the worse job given what he has. It's very difficult to embed a free flowing style in a bunch of strangers. We have a lot of players who haven't had time to build up partnerships.

From what I have watched we seen to take too many touches and kill the momentum. To me that's a sign that the players still aren't sure of the movement patterns.

I've never managed but I am aware that you build from the base and we are now a team who look like we can defend. Hopefully we'll start to get those patterns working soon.

That was the best performance since the Luton game and you are calling for the sack? Very premature

He got promoted with the best two squads in the league.

At the start of the season we probably had the strongest squad.

If the fire sale was expected (which all the noises coming out of the club suggested it was) then would he still be considered the right person and outstanding candidate? He was also utterly dreadful in his last position.
The only candidate with a comparable record was Bruce - so yes easily the outstanding candidate.

There can’t be many fans in the country that would be calling for their manager to be sacked whilst 2nd in the league.

If we’re going off promotions alone - Coyle has a promotion. Holloway has a promotion. Wilder has a promotion. I wouldn’t have appointed any of those, either.

I’d have appointed Lampard, purely because of the job he did with a young Derby and Chelsea team.

Yeah sack a manager who’s won 2 promotions and has us 2nd in the table above Leeds who have a manager who’s also won the championship twice.

If we scored one of those chances in the first half, we'd have put 4 past them.

Just need more quality in the final third.

Been on today. Sad to say boring and predictable. But one of best defensive starts re 5 in 12 this league has seen. Parker needs to sort it out though, this team should be flaying such opposition but we lack ambition, we stay "safe", hence so too do they. Never looked like we would score despite 22 shots.

We played pretty well today and won no less than 16 corners
Unfortunately there’s more chance of the opposition scoring from one of our corners than us
Parker had no part in the appointment of our set-piece coach, so surely he can see, like the rest of us, that our corners are predictable and poorly executed
There’s no transfer window for coaches so a change needs to be made to improve our chances of scoring

Since when did Burnley fans become so entitled, ‘sack him now’ wow, Kompany brain washed so many fans

We are second in the league and arguably did have our best first half of the season but just couldn’t score and then the second half becomes scrappy.

If we play like we did first half in most games we will win a lot of games.

Think he’d do better (and football in general) if he went back trying to outscore the opposition rather than being petrified of conceding a goal.

It’s a really difficult situation isn’t it. On one hand we are 2nd in the league but on another the football is boring. We should be beating teams like Preston and QPR at home, we only just scraped through against Plymouth and Portsmouth. Hull on Wednesday was pretty dire but you can take a point away if winning at home. We simply are not creating enough chances, I felt like it was clear early on today that we were not going to score. Parkers previous successful sides had Dominic Solanke and Mitrovic leading the line. We have nobody with the ability of those two in this squad. Football under Dyche was pretty dull but we were aggressive in our attack, we need to see more of this under Parker. Sadly, I’ve got a feeling it won’t be a long reign for Parker at Burnley.

Asking Parker to build a team with Flemming who’s not a 9, a 35 year old jay rod, a competition winner in hountonji and a 7 goals in 50 games striker in foster is on the board for letting kompany **** away 100mil on players who didn’t care about Burnley

The complete opposite, we play to wide and slow, the only times we looked dangerous today was when we played narrow with one touch football between roberts, brownhill, Laurent and Flemming.

If we went more narrow more often there would then be space for koleosho. We are to obvious with what we are doing, both wingers doubled up every game

Played really well today, if it wasn't for QPR throwing bodies on the line we win that comfortably.
Disappointing we didn't get the win we deserved, but that's football. I was very happy with the performance.

<1 xG and only one “big chance” and when we look at the heatmap (e.g. on WhoScored) the entire left hand side was non-progressive, Anthony was always turning back and on the rare times he goes down the wing, things happen.

That’s why I said it was safe. I think it is coached that way. These games are ones to go for it, ones like West Brom away are not.

I’m by no means a Parker Out person, all silly at the mo, but he has to improve offensively or it will cost him his job, or us our future as a top club when parachutes run out.

I think folk are gaslighting themselves a bit here. It's fine to support the gaffer and we can acknowledge that he's got us doing well in the table but at the same time it is actually ok to say that the football isn't great

It's lethargic, ponderous, passionless. If anyone has honestly enjoyed that game today as a whole then fair play to you but the prospect of sitting through another 20+ games of that this season has my blood running cold.

We're doing ok for now but for me it isn't going to be long before the opposition teams we face start clueing into the fact that we are not worthy of that much respect, that they don't need to bed in against us, and if they can get an odd goal then they will very likely take the win or a draw at least.
