He's always had the look of my Uncle Geoff. Geoff has still plenty of hair on his head though.

Yes, Micky Finn and Jeff Parton - the link is that all three were goalkeepers and all three played league games in the 1973/74 season

Do you not think so? I was expecting to recognise him but didn’t at all. It’s a while since I last saw him though, he was running a pub in Preston, but have been early 80s.

It's a year since Clarets Collected launched and the Archives latest exhibition at Burnley Librarythat opened Friday 1st November is on Burnley goalkeepers. The family of Jimmy Strong the Clarets keeper for the 1946-47 Cup Final cut the ribbon to open the exhibition and also present were former Clarets Keepers Geoff Parton, Michael Finn and Alan Stevenson - nice to see all of them looking well. On display are rare memorabilia by clarets stars Tom Heaton, Paul Robinson, Alan Stevenson and Jimmy Strong.
And Clarets Collected is open weekdays and on match days from 11:00 - 2:00.

Of the 3 I would never have recognised Parton without the link clue. Remember him giving a very nervous display in a 3-3 draw against Man United at Old Trafford when Taffy scored 2 penalties for us at the Stretford End.

That was his last game for us - Stevo was on England duty that night as was Dobbo. With them we'd have probably won and qualified for Europe.
