Biggest rip off these days is the reduction in size and weight of items. Problem is that they don't advertise it or let you know. This has happened for many years with sweets and chocolate bars. Most older people comment that wagon wheels, mars bars etc. are much smaller now then when we were younger.

But it is creeping into all packed foods these days. Looking at packs of butter the other day and I thought Lurpak and Anchor seemed good value until I checked them and found they awere 200g instead of the usual 250g. 20% reduction is a lot, wonder how many people buy them without realising they're getting 20% less.

Same with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. They've alwaays been 500g, 750g and 1 kilo packs. 500g on offer and worked out slightly cheaper than 1 kilo pack. Until I checked the pack and saw it had been reduced to 460g.

I find a mix of Aldi + The Pound Shop to be the best value. Certainly not Tesco.

I bought a Greggs steak bake yesterday. Not been in Greggs for years. Cost £2. Appeared a lot smaller than I remember and there was no steak bits inside. Was more like runny gravy. Wasn’t happy.

Talking of prices I went to the cinema last week. £4.80 for the larger bag of crisps which are normally £1.25 in convenience stores. There were only about 10 people watching the movie as well.

I refuse to go to the cinema until they ban mobile phones. Too many imbeciles can’t leave their mobile phones alone for the time a poxy film is on.

And a burger from the Nandos nearby was just short of a tenner - no side of chips or salad that I took as a given, just the burger on a bun.
