Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
...assuming the figures bandied about in the summer are true,
Sell:
Foster - 20m
Luca -30m
Trafford - 20m
Tresor -10m
Then take whatever we can get for those OOC and or not going to be part of the thinking such as Brownhill, Roberts, Obafemi etc say for another 5-10m.
Assuming Parker is given 60m of that.
Who would you buy?

Assuming the 0s on Foster and Koleosho’s price tags are a typo.

Another Manager lol
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
We’d get nowhere near that for any of them players.
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
Nobody is paying £20M for Foster, who can’t be relied on to play a whole season, or £30M for Koleosho who has no end product. Tresor will likely go, I’d imagine.
We’ve got to come away from these bonkers windows, but whilst we’re out of the PL, the board will see flipping players as an our main source of income.

It won't be long before the penny drops that fans have been conned, in so many different ways and areas.
There are still plenty willing (desperately hoping?) that, for example, Foster will turn into Jimmy Greaves and Tresor into a 1990 Gazza. There are others. Dream on.
Half that squad, management team and owners (you decide who) are not fit to wear claret & blue and don't give a flying fig about BFC, its history and what it means to the town and supporters.

If we don’t get our house in order, quickly, we could be in serious long term trouble. Fail to get promoted this season, flip the last of the players with any significant value and then what!?TsarBomba wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:25 pmNobody is paying £20M for Foster, who can’t be relied on to play a whole season, or £30M for Koleosho who has no end product. I may be called alarmist for saying it, but I think we are on a real knife edge here. We don’t have a Dyche to pull a rabbit out of a hat, the level of quality in the squad is way short of what we need and what we should have, with the money spent.
We are loaded with debt and have a board that plays at running a football club.
For all that Parker seems like a decent chap and he has had to deal with a bit of a **** hand, he’s done very little so far to suggest he’s remotely capable of meeting the target of promotion.
What we’ve seen so far this season (since the end of window clear out) has been pretty bloody poor.

Could have sworn we're 4th in the league, having only lost 2 games and conceded only 6 in 13 games? And all this by apparently playing terribly every game. Imagine when the tide turns, without mad transfer windows and stop start with the International weeks.

That tresors been a complete waste of time. I'll never get my head around why we signed him he's done absolutely nothing since he's been here.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:25 pmNobody is paying £20M for Foster, who can’t be relied on to play a whole season, or £30M for Koleosho who has no end product. Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
No denying those stats-I thought exactly the same last game, but what I am witnessing after today is a team short in confidence and belief. A side that starts brightly but we cannot seem to hurt other defences. Plus we are desperately short of goal scorers. The way we are set up, there is always the risk the other team will nick it. That lack of confidence today led too many players having below standard performances-Brownhill, Anthony, Cullen, and sadly Hountondji looked last and Jay-well just a reminder that the game is just too quick for him nowClaretFelix wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:49 pmCould have sworn we're 4th in the league, having only lost 2 games and conceded only 6 in 13 games? Can’t disagree with this, sadly.DCWat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:42 pmIf we don’t get our house in order, quickly, we could be in serious long term trouble. Fail to get promoted this season, flip the last of the players with any significant value and then what!?

I think we’re in for a rocky ride.

Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
If Scott Parker think’s Anthony is worth spending 7m on then I wouldn’t trust him with a penny
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
If the 12m for Bashir Humphreys is anywhere near to being accurate, we’ve learned nothing from Kompany’s window, the summer before.
I’m hoping that it was nearer 2m not 12m!
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
I’m not sure that Foster will attract interest unless we are prepared to sell him cheap. He doesn’t cut it for me in a number of ways. We certainly need a quality striker though, but where is there one that we could afford.
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
We are still in a good position with just under a 1/3 of the the season played. Fingers crossed the tide turns very soon, and we start scoring goals to back up the few we are conceding, or we will be swimming against the tide for the rest of the season, and there is still a long way to go.ClaretFelix wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:49 pmCould have sworn we're 4th in the league, having only lost 2 games and conceded only 6 in 13 games? Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
I'll be surprised if we don't accept offers for Koleosho, Esteve and Trafford in the next window, perhaps Tresor too.
Re: Hypothetical January Sales - Would You...
I'd sell Koleosho if the big offers are still there and sign Borja Sainz for one
