Hi Burnleybabe, just like to say keep up the good work as i have experienced it first hand with my Son who had drink and drugs issues and as they say when he hit rock bottom he got help but what it takes out of family is a eye opener but he turned it round with help from rehab and other places where you can get help with groups but it was a struggle at first because he would always say he didn't have a problem as he couldn't see it but when he got help that's when you start and take each day as it comes. So you keep up the good work mate..

Thank you to everybody who has liked or replied to my Post.
Obviously I only gave a snippet of what I have been through.
Yes it was tough at first, but did get easier.

Baba, you are right it is hard telling people you don’t want a drink, and you do get questioned, especially when you have drank with them previously Depending on who it was I gave different answers.

I am totally on board with groups and continuing with them, both for myself and to help others.

Mdd2 I'm sorry about you losing your wife, but a huge well done to her for helping others and her continued work to stay off Alcohol until the very end.

Big Vinny K Wow what a fantastic gesture, I will discuss it with Tony.

I think the main reason for my post was to set myself free from this secret, so I can move onto the next stage in my life.

At our Women's group at the end of their journey with us they do a letter to addiction, this post was in part mine. We do support them in various ways when they leave our programme, which we think is so important.

Clive1960, believe me I hit rock bottom a few times, until I accepted I had a problem. That's really was the hardest part of my Journey, then telling my family and friends.
You have to have a lightbulb moment, and until you yourself are ready to accept it you will never seek help.

I’ve been a binge drinker on & off for most of my life. Alcohol can certainly cause problems & needs to be stopped or carefully managed individual to individual as it’s complex subject. I urge anybody struggling to read this.
