This is the reason I did not purchase a season ticket this season, I live about 2 hours away and can not make evening games due to my job…so I was not willing to take the gamble that there would be enough home games on a Saturday/Sunday (decent time) to make it worth my while…I feel vindicated in my decision. I have so far attended one game and probably wont again this season.what now ! wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:40 pmit always makes me smile when people complain about fixtures being moved from 3pm Saturday , its not like it has only just started this season its been going on for decades now so we should be used to it and its not like they have only given you 1 weeks notice, January is the best part of 2 months away , i don't know anyone who plans that far ahead for day to day activities , holidays maybe, but doing other stuff at a weekend,
i for one am happy for us to be on the TV a lot it means more exposure for the club plus the extra TV money, if we were never on people would moan the other way , its part of being a football fan like all seater stadiums , we just have to accept it.

its a shame you cant get top games, i had the same issue when i lived in London for 8 years i couldn't get to every game but also i couldn't see the games on TV, so the fact they are now on television means you can watch them live at least.ClaretDiver wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:13 pmThis is the reason I did not purchase a season ticket this season, I live about 2 hours away and can not make evening games due to my job…so I was not willing to take the gamble that there would be enough home games on a Saturday/Sunday (decent time) to make it worth my while…I feel vindicated in my decision. like i said its not like moving games is a new thing they have been moving games for the the last 2-3 decades so people should be used to it by now.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 2:08 pmThe exposure thing is a nonsense, the majority of games moved this season (plus midweek games) are not on the main channel but on the red button.
There aren't hordes of people queuing up to watch Burnley on the TV, when several other EFL games are on, plus the possibility of a Premier League fixture (12.30pm) or European games (midweek)
The extra cash from the TV deal will be a drop in the ocean if it eventually affects attendances.
This current balance between TV, kick off times and match day prices is imo football literally eating itself.
you put forward the argument that attendances will suffer and income will decline, well the stats say the opposite, attendances are up across the league's so revenue hasn't been hit in fact it has increased and where have these extra fans come from? some will have come because of the extra exposure, of course most will have come because we are doing well. our attendances are up from when we were in the premier league under Dyche. so the extra money is welcome as if we have increased revenue from attendances and extra TV money then we are healthier financially,
as for season ticket prices, they cant stay at the same price forever, prices rise all the time on everything !! i would hazard a guess that those who moan about prices going up are some of the same people who say we need to spend more money. you cant have it both ways.

It’s gone to a new level this season with this new deal that will see a minimum of 26 of our 46 league games televised. I know the deal has caught out a lot of people, not just Burnley fans, who weren’t aware just how much disruption there would be. This is not a one year deal and we will see what effect it has on match going supporters.what now ! wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 9:10 amlike i said its not like moving games is a new thing they have been moving games for the the last 2-3 decades so people should be used to it by now.

As for the price increases, if anyone can justify mine going up 37% over the last two years or a young adult season ticket going up over 140% in one year, then I’d be interested to hear that justification.

With the price increases and the option to watch half our games on TV (the rest on dodgy strwams) I can see quite a lot of folk deciding to stop going to matches.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 9:25 amIt’s gone to a new level this season with this new deal that will see a minimum of 26 of our 46 league games televised.
