Fully deserved too.
What a marvellous partnership he and Esteve have forged at the back.
Any returning defenders, like Beyer, Ekdal, etc will have a real battle to reclaim a place in defence, and we need to keep hold of them in January, because there's little doubt that envious eyes will have been watching them.

You would think Worrall will be ahead of those two.

A new contract would be nice for Egan-Riley.

Probably.
TBH I'd forgotten about Worrall.

And at least one poster saying they wouldn't have Sarmiento anywhere near the starting lineup.

Worrall’s injury opened to door for CJ who would otherwise have struggled for game time.

Since a stuttering start at Sunderland, he's been excellent. Suppose it helps playing alongside Esteve who is exceptional. I also think CJ's quite vocal and if he continues with this development I can see him being a future captain.

Ben Mee moved from left back. Some decisions turn out for the better.

CJ the real bright spot of the season so far. He took a little time to build up his confidence but he looks some player now!
