Can you name one thing the club can prove you have done when you haven't due to having an image of your face ?

Re: Facial Recognition System at Turf
It may not be as simple for the club to introduce facial recognition as first thought. In the very least it looks like they would have to offer an alternative option to fans who didn't want to partake in the facial recognition scheme.

It's just the view that many have that if you have haven't done anything wrong you have nothing to fear.
Which is totally wrong

They could potentially make it a condition of purchasing a ticket.
I dont know if it can be justified at Burnley.
I mean, i have a membership at Ferencvaros, and as part of that they scan your fingerprints and retina, but they have a raging neo nazi element so......

Have you read the link that I put up from Big Brother Watch?ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 6:03 pmThey could potentially make it a condition of purchasing a ticket.

I can't see how the club can introduce a facial recognition system without giving fans (customers) an alternative option to gain entry to the ground.
Data protection laws in the UK are probably different to those in Turkey.

Re: Facial Recognition System at Turf
That's a different scenario. It's the equivalent of replacing season tickets with facial recognition.Anonymous Claret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 1:29 pmIt may not be as simple for the club to introduce facial recognition as first thought. Re: Facial Recognition System at Turf
But would they be able to do that without breaking data protection laws and offering an alternative for people who didn't want to partake in the facial recognition system?
Reading how Big Brother Watch successfully challenged Energie Fitness on their facial recognition system, I can't see how other businesses couldn't be challenged in the same way unless I am missing something obvious.
It says quite clearly in the report ' The law requires businesses and employers to provide an alternative to biometric access requirements'.

You are missing something obvious. BFC are not using facial recognition as an entry requirement.Anonymous Claret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:39 pmBut would they be able to do that without breaking data protection laws and offering an alternative for people who didn't want to partake in the facial recognition system?

Re: Facial Recognition System at Turf
Do you care to elaborate?
Reading Aggi's response in saying that season tickets would be replaced by facial recognition, how would people enter the ground if they had no season ticket?
I am not being awkward, I would genuinely like to know.

No need to reply. I misunderstood Aggi's response and just had a review of the thread where it appears facial recognition would be used to identify people on banning orders etc. It's been a long day.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:14 pmYou are missing something obvious. I won’t tell you why
But they don’t know their arses from their elbows
And no amount of technology will change that

Re: Facial Recognition System at Turf
It's not foolproof, apparently the bstards fans crashed the system.
