You’d be furious as a Bristol fan about the Brownhill handball.

More than likely ... but I am not a Brizzle City fan (and no VAR) so I don't care 🤣.

Madely reffed the game fair for both sides ... we got silly bookings but on the whole Madely best ref we've seen at a BFC match this season.

I thought he had a better first half when he let soft challenges go (where 9/10 other referees would have blown). A period in the second half he started blowing too much but overall did better than most.

I thought he got two big decisions wrong unfortunately. The late, high, through the back tackle on Hannibal should have been a red imo and the handball which should have been a penalty. Plus how Mehmeti wasn't booked for persistent fowling I'll never know!

He must have let 3 fouls on Hannibal go in a 5 mins spell just after half time which gave City the impetus.

Had a good game. I didn’t feel it was a pen, the ball skidded up and bounced off the hand that was naturally positioned, there was no need to deliberately handle it.

(impossible for a RTR entry to see this from the stand though)

Didn’t think he was that good today. He didn’t allow for the conditions enough. I’m getting fed up of the current trend of refs blowing up for something and nothing tackles. Only watched in tv hence not marking him.

If spotted I would've expected a penalty to have been awarded, despite agreeing with the foregoing, most especially the 'no need to deliberately handle it' part; had it not hit Brownhill's hand, the ball was safely heading out for a goal kick.

I was less impressed (from the TV) with Madley than I was with his last game: Bristol were persistently giving Burnley shirts a tug, especially as they moved forward through the centre of the pitch - often not for long, just enough to check them by half-a-yard; not one was penalised, but he then subsequently booked Anthony for doing similar. As noted by others already, the Hannibal foul/booking arose from from frustration/anger at Madley having ignored three clear fouls committed against him in the preceding few minutes. Oh, and he missed the Brownhill hand ball.

I reckon if there had have been VAR this season, we'd have had more penalties given to us than against us at this stage.

Defo one of the best and I think the game missed him during his hiatus

Every yellow we got today was daft and well deserved. We gave him a lot of work today

I'm certain 'Deliberate' no longer counts for anything and reckon both Referee and Assistant missed it. It certainly deflected enough but hey no VAR and no bias so happy days!

Another good game from Madley, he reffed to the conditions and we got away with the one big decision of the match.

Hannibal tries to “buy” the free-kick all the time. Creates doubt when there’s no need to be any as all were fouls

Agree, but arguably there were two big decisions.
I thought the McNally challenge on Hannibal was a really bad one, and think that VAR would have been having a serious look at it.
(Not sure what view Madley had, but he went immediately for a card - just yellow)

Think he got that right tbh, it was a late one but never a red and the conditions played a part.

Watched on TV so can't mark but have to say I thought he had a good game again, following on from his performance v Plymouth.

If there was a contentious decision it was the Brownhill handball which went in our favour - I don't think it was deliberate but, hand on heart, in the modern game had it been given, I don't think we could have complained too much.

Watched on TV but would probably agree with Tony's marks. Definitely one of the better refs and does - at least - seem pretty consistent with game by game performances.

Is there a replay anywhere of the penalty appeal? It's not on the Burnley FC highlights.

I was there and was surprised at a number of others' negative comments about him around me, some pretty personal. I thought he had a decent game.

Not bad for a rehabilidated ref. Kept play going - seemed to play it like a man's game

Cheers. Definitely in the "you've seen them given" category. On the other hand given the conditions, no movement of arm to ball and that it didn't impede a Brtistol player getting to the ball it would have been harsh.
