Something Tark learned to do over time... Would get wound up early on and I remember Glenn Murray making the most of it - he then seemed to turn it around wellquoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:48 pmExactly this. A good wind up merchant doesn’t get themselves more wound up than the opponent they’re winding up.

Hannibal is about as far from an shithousery expert as I could possibly imagine.
Seriously. He’s miles off…

Not having a go, Newcastle93 but I once questioned Whoscored - as in I sent an email which was never answered - after watching a match. French L1 some years back. A full-back I rated put in six or seven crosses in a match I watched. On their site they had it down as just two crosses.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 10:59 pmThere’s a few different sites but I like using Whoscored match centre as you can directly compare players.

If there’s little money in football journalism, there’s even less in data analysis, particularly outside the top leagues.ecc wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 11:44 pmNot having a go, Newcastle93 but I once questioned Whoscored - as in I sent an email which was never answered - after watching a match. You’d imagine many of these sites used pooled data. They certainly can’t all afford to pay 100s of individuals to collate stats live every weekend.
I guess the stats are therefore only as good as the lowly paid collators or AI they’ve bought to try and collate them automatically.
It’s bound to be error strewn.

WhoScored use Opta who are probably the market leaders.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:35 amIf there’s little money in football journalism, there’s even less in data analysis, particularly outside the top leagues.

And at the same time let’s all stop going over the top about a young player that looks nothing more than bang average at this stage in his career.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:57 pmThe lads more than 10 yrs younger than Barnes give the lad a chance.

We’re not talking about a measurable “skill” here… we’re talking about a lad being a bit of a wind up merchant. And in the grand scheme of things, he’s an amateur. But that’s ok, no one’s marking him down on it. It’s merely an observation…Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:57 pmThe lads more than 10 yrs younger than Barnes give the lad a chance.

Not going over top however how many bang average players did Sean Dyche have when we were 7th in the Premier league and he managed to get a tune out of them?

Just trying to explain that we’ve had many players who’ve been bang average that could be moulded it a good side a la Dyche’s and that Hannibal can be an important part of the team that SP is developing .TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 5:23 pmWhat on Earth has Hannibal being a poor shithouse got to do with Sean Dyche?
