Printer insalation help required

Post by Bigbopper » Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:37 pm

I am attempting to install a second hand HP printer. The computer recognises the printer, the drivers seem to be installed and up to date . The printer will print out a test page. However when I try to print a document it opens a box and ask me to save printer info as then nothing prints? Any help much appreciated .

Don’t use computers anymore ,but can’t you search on your computer for printers?

Go to the support page here, find your printer, then download whatever it suggests you to.

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/printers

After that I would restart my PC and unplug the printer for 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in.

If it still doesn't work, are you printing over wi-fi? Make sure your printer and PC and/or phone are all on the same wifi network

I pray for you. We bought a HP bluetooth printer and it took us months to finally get it working every time needed.

Ink in colour printers costs a fortune!

I gave up colour years ago. I have had 2 Kyocera black and white laser printers. I use non manufacturer cartridges. Prints thousands.

The real frustration about them is you are unable to print in black and white when your colour cartridge has run out.

I shouldn’t have to go and replace the colour when just want to use the black

Printer ink costs more than blood (per milliliter, used in medical procedures).

If you imagine a wine or champagne bottle full of printer ink, that bottle will cost you in the region of £315.
