Stoke v Clarets.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Waste from Anthony
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
FK Burnley. Anthony sees keeper off line so fires in a shot. Good idea. Well wide though.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Only a waste because it didn't go in. Was worth a try.

You'll get all the half-time round up!

It's not right, though.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Esteve playing with a chuckle in his boots.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Egan-Riley ensures Cannon fodder.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
They have zero threat up front.

Phil Bird saying the 5 bookings closure is Friday after our Boro match. Well that can’t be right, us and Boro will have played a game more than the rest of the division.

Koleosho plays better when he's got support from Pires . Humphries offers nothing going forward .

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
I honestly believe that esteve is the best centre back I’ve ever seen playing for Burnley which considering our recent history, is some going.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Koleosho off, Sarmiento wide left and Hannibal or Flemming on
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Pretty sterile all round.
Josh Cullen our best player thus far. Seems to be everywhere.
CJ playing well again.
Not easy at all playing against three giants at the back.

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
We go away not to lose. That's why Humphreys plays. We are better than this lot so should go for it. It's like we are now scared of even conceding.

Missing the bite and energy of Hannibal. Should have started ahead of Laurent or Koleosho/Sarmiento.

I'd like to see Houtondji getting a run out here with Flemming - need some pace to counter Stoke's high defensive line.

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Think on balance they are the better team. We seem to be defending low crosses for them to attack when it is a pull back they are attempting. We've been a bit lucky to deflect and have a lad on the spot to deal with the seconds. Not much threat from us.

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Esteve, Trafford good, Cullen outstanding. Anthony and Koleosho so wasteful. Stoke are poor. We need more power, technique and passing ability up front.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
typical Burnley game of late, but they've had the better chances
Hoping for a good team talk at the moment.

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
The only way to play against three CB's is to get down the line and cross from there
We failed against PNE and don't look like being any better today

Another major bore. Stoke comms couldn’t think of any highlights at ht. Cullen has been superb but that’s about it Stoke looking the more likely to score

Need to liven up here, they look capable of nicking one.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Football is good we just don't attempt enough shots at goal when we make openings
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
I'm starting to think Koleosho is a complete dud. He really struggles with the basics of kicking a ball properly. So many easy short passes he completely butchers. Also, I think he's possibly lost a yard of pace from before his injury so can't just burn people off like he did last season.

Controlling the game, not much in the way of clear chances. Stoke don't give too many away. I love how we dismiss every team we play as "shi*e". They aren't shite at all.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Stoke have conceded the most amount of shots against them in the entire league since the new manager came in.willsclarets wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:55 pmControlling the game, not much in the way of clear chances. Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Watching a stream that must be the Stoke City commentary.
“Nothing to fear from this average Burnley side”
City really should be putting this team to bed “
Burnley offering nothing “
“If Stoke commit more players to attack this game is here for the taking”
Funny how opposing fans see the same game, in their favour?

Well, that happened.
Slight worry is that I can’t see where a Burnley goal is coming from. Then again, I thought the same thing at half-time on Tuesday…

I'm watching the stream with Stoke commentary as it has crowd noise.
They summed up the first half by saying. 'It's fair to say we expected a bit more from Burnley'.

As someone said earlier we are missing Hannibal’s energy in midfield. Laurent is too slow and ineffective for me.

I would agree with that. If they commit men into the box on the pull back then we struggle to deal with it as easily.clive40golf wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:56 pmWatching a stream that must be the Stoke City commentary.

I think he may have lost a touch of pace yeah and that's all the difference.Goliath wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:55 pmI'm starting to think Koleosho is a complete dud. He shouldn't have been chucked in like he was last year, he can't go from playing just 5 games of professional football (sub appearances as well) to being thrust into starting in the PL week in and week out... takes time to become accustomed to that workload.
Dyche gets stick off some by how he brought McNeil into the side and then took him out again, but I think that has been best for his (and would've been for Luca's) development.
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Still no commentary for me though from this thread it looks like I haven’t missed much!
Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Pulls out of challenges at times, lost ball and ambled back not looking at all bothered, disappointing as he's got talent.

Re: Stoke v Clarets.
Maybe they're defending their box well and restricting teams to half chances, getting frustrated and shooting more?
Stats like that don't tell the full picture.
