Re: On this day
Our journey back in time is a shorter one today, taking us to November 1998 and a day which saw The Clarets on the receiving end of a 5-0 hammering from Bournemouth. Elsewhere across the country, players with a link to our club were having a more successful day and finding themselves on the scoresheet for their respective clubs. But from the list of clubs, can you work out who the scorers were: To help out, Steve Taylor doesn't feature today!
Manchester United
Huddersfield Town
Bradford City
Norwich City
Watford
Luton Town
Scarborough
Scunthorpe United

Not Davis or Grezza for Luton
Re: On this day
I’ve had the benefit of seeing the FB post, for one reason or another I got invited to Villa Park to an absolute belter of a game with Liverpool, 2-4, seem to recall the visiting fans enjoyed giving Stan Collymore plenty of stick.
A couple of clues, the Luton player didn’t play many for us but I think he scored on debut.
Scarborough, has worked on Radio Lancs. I would never have got that one.

Re: On this day
After a few days of non posts due to the slim pickings of Clarets linked players, we are back with a number of scorers to guess from 1983. A day which saw the Clarets send Port Vale packing on the receiving end of a 7 goal thumping. A hattrick for Kevin Reeves and a goal a piece for Billy Hamilton, Tommy Hutchison, Brian Flynn and Willie Donachie. I remember this game as my Dad had been dragged Xmas shopping and picked my brother and I up outside the cricket club after the game. "How did we get on" he asked and then was in disbelief at the scoreline until the match report came on Radio Lancs. If only Kevin Reeves hadn't had a career ending injury....
The goalscorers with links to our club on the day played for:
Norwich City
Barnsley
Cardiff (own goal from a Huddersfield Town player)
Bolton Wanderers
Sheffield United
Bury
Peterborough United
One or two quite easy ones and a couple that I think are quite tricky. Good luck with your guesses.

Re: On this day
Huddersfield own goal was indeed Brian Laws. Not Warren Joyce for Bolton. I think the tricky ones are Norwich and in particular Peterborough
Re: On this day
I’ve got the benefit of FB , Louie Donowa was the Norwich scorer. Can’t remember Posh one though.
Back to 1991 yesterday with Conroy’s brace at Northampton and the crutches in the crowd celebrating. My lift never turned up that day, was gutted to miss out.
A few interesting ones today.
Players associated with the Clarets scored for:
Arsenal
Barnsley
Birmingham
Bolton x2
Stoke
Crewe v Hereford
