You can see it now, Liverpool fans saying " Accrington Stanley, who are they "
No, they are saying that it's ridiculous that they should have to clutter their fixture list up playing **** like that and that they ought to have a bye to the sixth round.

A lad who appeared in the milk add was sent down for murder in 2023.

Some good ties in there, pleased for the clubs in the lower leagues who have drawn PL clubs and Leeds.

An early trip back to Berkshire for us
Premier inn near Basingstoke Rd is nearest to the ground. We booked with breakfasts £80 .This can be cancelled 1 day before with no charge .In case of Sky issues

Can understand the replays being scrapped overall, but for the first 2 rounds they should be allowed purely for financial reasons. But I guess that's not possible if it isn't done for the rest of the competition.
Given they have different rules in the same round based on whether or not it's at a premier league ground then different rules in different rounds should be easy.

Just sent the draw to the family due to the connections with the Ding. I fancy a trip down there again.

Financial Directors of Harrogate, Salford, Accrington Stanley and Morecambe will be very happy, whilst the Tamworth F/D will be lobbying the West Midlands Police to rule that the ground is unfit for such a game, and that the tie be switched to Tottenham's Stadium !

You can laugh at this, but I remember when we drew Manchester City at home in the 1990-91 FA Cup .... it was described as a " money-spinner ", there were over 20,000 on the ground and the " Burnley Express " had crowd pictures on the front page, with the headline " Why can't it be like this every week ? " ...

I remember that game. Sadly for us Colin Henrdy scored the winner :(

The City fans were given all the CFS and the regular away end of the longside if I recall.

Some great ties for the lower league clubs, Accy at Liverpool, Morecambe at Chelsea, Bromley at Newcastle, Harrogate at Leeds, Salford at City all big money ties for them and Tamworth at home to Spurs guaranteed to be on TV.
They will probably show Arsenal v Man U

Happy for the lower league sides getting good draws, but not sure i'd want to watch them on TV as a neutral. Salford won't get a kick against City.

I lived (then and now) in north Hampshire and went to that game, just arrived at the away turnstiles when everybody was coming out of the ground. Easy for me to reschedule for the "replay" and that was on my birthday (9th Jan which is always close to 3rd round ties). Couldve been a better birthday present but we did quite well as underdogs - Reading were in Premier League. 3-0 down then got it to 3-2 but it wasnt to be. Akinbiyi scored one of ours Bikey booked for them :D

Awful draw for us. I said we’d get a nothing draw. I always think about what games a neutral would least be interested in watching and Reading v Burnley is right up there. We’ll play a weakened team and lose and it won’t even make a headline.
Really disappointed, would sooner have had City (especially the way they are playing).

No doubt because that’s what they think people want to see. FA Cup third round is all about minnows and giant killing but they will flog that to death until they show it because it is two ‘giants’.

Just checked on Guy. Currently President of AFC Wimbledon. It was just the one replay v Leeds. Saved a Lorimer penalty at Leeds and was only beaten by a deflected shot in the replay. What is remarkable was that from January 1970 he only missed 1 game out of 449. Most players don’t even play that many games for one club. Amazing servant.

Great for some of the smaller clubs and good luck to them.
BFC versus The Underachievers is bound to be on last on MOTD - if anyone is still awake

I'd forgotten that was Churchill's funeral day (30/1/65). I went to Elm Park via supporters' coach that day, we were big favourites but I remember it as a really tight game that we could've lost. I (maybe wrongly) recall us being somewhere around the half way line on a long side. I cant remember anything about the home replay.

Reading played some young players.

My home town team! Family still there....supporting Reading.

Be good to see the Clarets win the cup, starting there.

Reading v Burnley FA Cup 1965 was my first time watching Burnley live and I stood with the Burnley fans, despite having a Reading season ticket. No segregation in those days.

Decent enough draw and one we should be able to get through and it will give other squad players coming back from injury to get minutes out of the pitch..

Should be able to get through? We’ve been dumped out of the cup a number of times by so-called ‘minnows’. And it’s not even a glamour tie. For either team.

Man City v Salford is absolutely guaranteed to be on Live TV, for the possibility, however unlikely, of seeing the biggest FA Cup upset of all time.

The biggest FA Cup upset of all time in terms of places between the teams in the football pyramid was Burnley 0 Wimbledon 1 in 1975.

If we go there with the right attitude we should comfortably beat them. I agree its not a great draw for the fans, long journey to a soulless, lego ground but still better than getting one of the big boys away.

The probability of 5 or fewer PL teams being drawn away is 2.07%, or slightly less than one every 50 years.

Reading charged 15 quid an adult ticket in the last round and closed half their ground against non league opposition.

This screams of a 10 quid adult with kids a quid type game.

Would Hereford over Newcastle or Sutton over Coventry not be similar or more.. Im trying to get us out of that record! Lincoln beating us the other year probably wouldnt be far off either but we'll happily forget that happened!

I believe Turf Moor is the only ground in the country where a non-league team has beaten a top division team on two separate occasions. Birmingham are the only other top division team to lose at home to non-league, and no non-league team (so far as I know) has done it twice at home.

The 257th draw in a row we’ve been drawn away.
Got me thinking that.. it’s 7 consecutive away draws in the two cups. Lower than 1% chance of that happening.

Great chance to progress.
Unwittingly or not, you have just repeated exactly what Jimmy Adamson told the press on hearing of our home tie against Wimbledon in January 1975 ... although he may have said " opportunity " rather than " chance " ... and we all know how that turned out !

It’s ridiculous. Last home draw was Fleetwood in the FA Cup 5th round two seasons ago.

Reading v Burnley FA Cup 1965 was my first time watching Burnley live and I stood with the Burnley fans, despite having a Reading season ticket. No segregation in those days.
My brother went to that tie too. He was a student in South West London and the last part of his journey to Reading's ground was by bus. Nothing too unusual about that except for the fact that some of Reading's players that day were also on the same bus.

I believe Turf Moor is the only ground in the country where a non-league team has beaten a top division team on two separate occasions. Birmingham are the only other top division team to lose at home to non-league, and no non-league team (so far as I know) has done it twice at home.
Didn't Luton, when in National League, beat Norwich 1-0 at Carrow Road around 10 years ago?
