Not sure what I'll do yet, I do seem to miss too many these days with work anyway.
Paying for 3 season tickets for me and the kids that arent being used is starting to **** the mrs off (and me) :D

Probably do nothing as usual and let them auto renew

Fair play to the club on this. There’s been things they’ve got wrong lately but this is a massive thumbs up point & to announce it so early.

In a time where the majority of things are going up in price to an unprecedented level in some aspects, fair play on keeping the STs at the same rate as this season.

Apparently only affects 253 people.

There used to be a 18-22 category, which was removed this season.

I think it currently is 18 and over up to 22 and under, not under 22.

“The offer is initially open to all current season ticket holders throughout the month of January 2025.”

Why January? Why not just prices frozen, full stop?

This is a positive.

The main way to get fans onside is to give the manager the tools to produce a winning side. Ideally playing good entertaining football.

So let's see what he does to aid this in Jan. From what's been said it doesn't sound too promising.

So are you honestly saying we have to renew in January!

I always joked that they kept bringing forward and one year we’d end up paying twice

Used to be before Burnley fair , then was March.
Seriously January. Hopefully ALK will also invest more in January!

Because we won't know in January if we are going up or not.
We probably won't know if we have sold or bought anyone either till last day or so.
Cynical as it it is...the club are fully aware of what they are doing, as they shoukd be.
It's great pr now, it's a nod of approval on the face of it from fans, but dig a little deeper and it may just be hiding the fact that they are worried about the poor number that are turning up and scared of a loss of thousands not renewing.

Best case, is renew in January, we sign a couple of better quality players and push on to promotion.

Worst case, renew in January, sell a couple of better players, drift off into mid table but we won't know this is potentially the outcome till the window closes.

January is a bit early to renew full stop.

Where is this information coming from? Seen nothing.

This being the case I’ll have been hammered twice in 2 seasons.

My twins were 19 at time of last renewal and were hit with a 46% uplift from previous year.

Now, they will be 20 at time of renewal but turn 21 in May so would potentially go from being £100 each to £520 a pop. Absolute lunacy if this is the case and they will without a doubt lose 4 season ticket holders with a combined season ticket holding of around 75 years

It might only be 253 people, but they are the same 253 people that got hammered with a 46% increase last season.

So an 18 year old has gone from
2022-23 - £99
23/24 -£145
24/25 - £246
25/26 - £520

An eye watering 520% by my rough maths.

If this is true, I’m done

Not really, it’s an EFL requirement to hold one so he probably didn’t want the fans forum at all. He’s probably chosen this day to announce the decision since he knows it will be well received… because it is very good news in a world where everything else is going up.

Very good news and well done to the club for taking this decision.

I’m very vocal about my opinions on ticket price rises so you have to give equal credit where it’s due. If we do end up back in the premier league it will be a very reasonable price for a ticket.

Great for the majority of us, but I think that there was a question around concession tickets that was glossed over in terms of OAP’s, at tonight’s forum. I also have to feel for the poster above, highlighting the huge rise, in a few short seasons, for 18 year olds.

I don’t think OAP’s are going up are they?

Yes, I have deep sympathy for the poster above but, being honest, over four seasons turning from 18 (an adult), it’s not too much different than I’d expect. 21 seems a fair age to end the concessions since most will be through full time education by that point. And I say this as someone who is going to be stung by that myself in the not too distant. I think overall our prices are fantastic for the premier league and good in the Championship, so freezing them is a fantastic effort by the club and long may it continue (as it did for many many years to be fair).

I find it strange that this “positive” announcement seems to have the club worried. Why else would they turn off comments on their Facebook post?

Same with the fans questions night?

If you don't renew in January does that mean you lose your seat and it goes on sale to those on waiting list on 7th February?
Or can you renew later but not guaranteed same price?
As they have announced seat swop as 6th February I'm assuming if you don't pay up in January you would not be able to renew later or have I just misunderstood

You have to buy your seat before the deadline to guarantee it, someone else might not buy it though, so then you can buy at a higher cost.

The DD option is best for you if you want the best price and payments starting from April onwards.

So what you are saying is season ticket holders who don't renew by end of January can still renew later at a higher cost but if someone buys your seat you can't renew or remain a season ticket holder?
Surely that can't be right

No, you can renew up until the day before the season, but you might have to change seats, if someone buys yours.

My issue with it is that it’s targeted the same specific group of customers three years in a row. Why would you freeze tickets for every single group, except the one you hit with 46% last year.

And just because education has finished, it doesn’t mean that particular group are flush with cash. They’ve most likely just left uni carrying £30k+ of debt.

I really hope that we don’t sell the future income for next seasons season tickets in February
We need a process to reduce the debt manufactured by ALK rather than a way of flogging off future revenue streams .

Where does it say you can still renew your ticket at a later date and you might have to move seats if yours is sold?
If remaining tickets are available to waiting list from 7th February then surely if you haven't renewed your seat is up for grabs
Come April there might not be any tickets available
The Way I read the announcement is that if you don't renew in January you will have to go to the bottom of the waiting list if you want another at a later date

Invested? Those days are over. It will go towards servicing debt, as will player sales.

With the pricing, I imagine they’ve seen the walk on numbers and need to try and secure season tickets now while there’s still a (receding) chance of promotion.

Hopefully it works, we all want a fullish Turf. It’s not for me though this time, a number of reasons mean we’ve already decided to have a season at local non league next year and just do a few aways.

You do realise that the first payment won't be taken until May considering a high percentage of people are on the direct debit scheme ?

Do you also think season ticket sales fund transfers ?

Potential cash flow issues and needing to get money in quickly is a possible answer.

As you say, ST sales generated income, to give an indication for next season's budgetting ans also smooth the cash flow.

Paying by DD, we can claim our ticket (not knowing which league we will be in) and not pay anything until DD renewal time. Good fan business!

And if they'd said they weren't freezing prices, you'd probably complain about that.
I'm not commenting on the freezing of the prices in particular, more a case of they rushed out two positive news pieces the day after yet another mind numbing draw, where it became crystal clear that the vast majority of fans aren't happy with the absolute dross we're being served up on the pitch.

Any ST holder paying by DD is auto renewal. No action needed, unless you don't want to renew!

Are the prices frozen at ‘early bird’ prices or has that been abandoned?
Now that is a very good question.

There are certainly posters on here who would. How they go about their day to day life being this negative baffles me.

Even if the club announced free season tickets some would find something to moan about, they must lead really sad lives
