There's a reason he's not looked anything like the player he was at Millwall.
And the main reason is that Parker has yet to play him in the No 10 position that was his success last season for Millwall

He hasn't but there's no denying Flemming does not look match fit and until he is we will not see the best of him.

Nixon has a transfer rumour regarding Burnley for us tomorrow, but he has a habit of the loosest links to keep his subscribers happy.

Flemming has a history of scoring goals plus assists

Trouble is our manager seems reluctant to play him in his natural position
He looks so uncomfortable as a striker........surely Parker can see that?
He was an absolute handful at Millwall. He really hasn't been given the chance to show what he can do.

In the fans forum Alan Pace said that we have a fantastic squad and that key players wouldn’t be sold in January but also not many incomings either. Was he being coy or do they really think we can get promoted with what we have! now we need a win at Norwich draws are now beginning to hurt us and to make matters worse Rovers are only a point behind us like Steve Eyre said on Friday night it’s time for SP to take the handbrake off but CAN he?

Unfortunately Flemming has never played as the type of number ten that suits this system.

I feel for Fleming, I think if we had a good target man 9, like Chris Wood for example Fleming would start to show what he’s about as a 10.
Yes, Flemming might be a 10 in a more orthodox 4-4-2 system but if we’re talking about him playing that advanced midfield role in our current system, I just don’t see it.

It’s hard to see how he really fits into our side at the moment.

Flemming is an interesting one I’m not knocking him he looks unfit and lacks speed both straight line and when tuning and twisting.

I doubt scotty was even consulted on the signing of Flemming. He’s never in a million years a player that fits his system.

This has got to be one of those analytical signings the recruitment team.

Remember Parker is not the manager. He’s just a head coach

I agree he doesn’t seem to fit the system.

I very much doubt Parker wasn’t involved in the signing. Pace said in the week that the technical committee, which Parker will sit on, makes the recruitment decisions. He also downplayed the relevance of role titles.

I suspect the late departure of Amdouini in the window meant we lost our No 10, and Fleming had been on our radaar since VK first joined us

I often wonder what both our GOALS SCORED & POINTS would look like tonight if Amdouini was still here, and I appreciate that was never going to happen

A lot lot better at a guess Warks.

I maintain that losing JBG and Vitinho were two huge losses too.

Not bothered who we sign as long as some sort of research is carried out with any potential incomings.

We can certainly finish inside the playoffs with what we have and therefore still be promoted, but do they want to chance that?

I really hope not. We have two wingers with very little end product and Redmond needs to be tried IMO. He could also play the role of JBG two years ago.

If he was involved in the decision (which I’m not convinced he was given how late in the window it was), I suspect it was Flemming or no one.

I just can’t see under any circumstances that Parker wanted him. He is probably the one player in our squad that just doesn’t fit anywhere

This is bang on the money. A number 10 in this system needs to have the ability to carry the ball, beat men and to play in tight spaces.

Sarmiento has the attributes as a number 10 in this system. Flemming does not.

I don't think that's necessarily correct.

Used correctly Flemming can play as a 10 in a team playing the way we want to play. The "10" Parker used at Bournemouth was Billing who isn't a dissimilar player and if we leave aside his spell at Millwall that is also as i understand it the position Flemming played in Holland.

Flemming good technically but he's not played in his favoured position and I'd reserve judgement on whether he can operate their until it's been tried. Current he's a square peg in a round hole and there were too many of them on Tuesday night.

I'd be a mixture of amazed and pretty angry if we were sending NR to Blues. He's been out for a year with a serious injury just got back in the squad and then we get rid?? Unless we are clearing room out in that area for someone?

We have been desperate to have the ability to mix it up from the wings as Koleosho showed when he came on the other night, just to inject some pace into the game.

He does not seem to have been given much of a chance and sadly blighted with injury since joining. I have seen very little of Redmond live other than at Forest in the League Cup last season . My memory of him is when the SKY cameras panned to him a few months ago during a home game. He was near near the dug out area and obviously getting close to being fit , and he was having a real go at Parker who just listened. On the MISSION documentary I remember him laying into his colleagues after a PL game-maybe he is not seen as someone nice to have around the squad . Who knows

I've just read the article as I'd like to think he could make his way back into our team.

Birmingham want him and could afford him on loan. Redmond has ties with Birmingham. Nixon seems to think it's not unrealistic but we need to make a decision about him. Redmond may be disappointed in how things have worked out given he was playing well for Besiktas before joining us and wanted one last crack at the Premier League. Acknowledges injury has played a big part in that.

I think he'd be a solid option for us and would be surprised/disappointed to see us let him leave on loan unless it's a temporary move to improve fitness.

If we get a loan fee, and we don't feel he's going to pull any trees up for us, then maybe the fee and/or wage saving will go towards a loan/buy in Jan. That might be the thinking from the club's POV.

It all depends on how fit he is and whether he can recapture his pre-injury levels. If he can't, we need that squad place to bring in someone who is at that level. If he can though on paper he's got a really valuable role in the second half of the season.

If we are trying to create squad places there are bigger priorities to move on/loan out ie Sambo, Hountondji, Delcroix, Dodson, maybe even Tresor depending on the REAL situation surrounding him

He’s definitely good enough to play a key role at this level, especially as he can probably play in all of the front 4 positions (at a push).

He’s also very helpful in terms of meeting the home grown requirements. Otherwise you have to look to Dodgson or McDermott etc.

Like so many others of our players that have come back or are coming back to fitness - Redmond, Ekdal, Delcroix, Tresor, Sambo, Benson, Massengo, we need to start either playing them or getting them moved on. We don't have the finances to be carrying them.

He’s definitely good enough to play a key role at this level, especially as he can probably play in all of the front 4 positions (at a push).

He’s also very helpful in terms of meeting the home grown requirements. Otherwise you have to look to Dodgson or McDermott etc.
How would you know he’s still good enough ?
When was the last time you saw him kick a ball ?

Out of interest , does anybody know the problem with redmond ? On the bench recently then no sight of him. I for one was hoping that he’d pay a major role once back in the fold

Nathan Redmond was always a dubious signing with his best years way behind him.Personally I wouldn't be unhappy to see him go.
I would have said he was 36, but he's only 30, should have a few good years ahead
