Ha…. Science. Stick those 2 great goals in your entertainment pipe.
They’ve lost one at home in over a year…… until today. Massive result, huge 2nd half performance, and a deserved win.

A superb performance from Trafford and also a cracking fightback.
Now I know a handful of you will be upset about being denied the opportunity to pour misery and negativity over the forum for hours on end, but I'm sure you'll find a way if you try hard enough. UTC!

2 strikes from nothing does not make an assured performance. We really didn't create much at all.
That's the concern.

And what did they create? They’ve lost once at home in a year….. and you’re here digging the team out, who’ve just worked hard, to win at that fortress. You’ll never be happy. It’s great to see a team that’s robust and solid, after the naive farce of last season. Well done Scott Parker.

Re: Norwich v Burnley Sunday 15th Dec Match thread
I find the comments about fans on here really strange.
That first half was truly shocking, I’m not even talking about the score but the football and sloppy mess on show was horrific.
Second half we dramatically improved with the introduction of Laurent (the shape changed and with that the dynamic of the game).
I think it’s very very fair to say that the players struggled and at times didn’t even look mid table quality. But credit where it is due Parker has pulled a fantastic result against the run of play.
As others have said, the big positive today was the team spirit.
I’m not fan of flemming but loved how the team reacted to his goal and even after the game they were all buzzing for him.
Get some quality signed in January in the attacking third and we are not a million miles away

Some have been anti Parker from the off regardless of what has happened, or happens. Their tone certainly suggests they take pleasure in mistakes, he, or the team makes. Any defeats too if it means he ended up getting sacked.

I will give credit for the performance after the goal. It doesn’t need to be 1 extreme or the other. Up until the goal it was beyond abysmal not for the first time this season. The changes that hadn’t worked for many a game worked today. We showed grit, had a bit of luck which you need and the job was done in the end.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:10 pmIt’s a game of 2 halves….. give due praise for a very good 2nd half performance to win at a place that has proved beyond virtually every team in the division.

Imagine that a bad half happens to many teams…. Takes a special TEAM to come from behind and win at Norwich. Great team spirit, great strength of character to turn around an indifferent performance, stay in the game, and win. Night and day from last season. Long may it continue.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:15 pmI find the comments about fans on here really strange.

Like you, I am ecstatic about the win and the 2 excellent goals. I just think the concern is that without those 2 exceptional strikes, we did not create anything. Not negative about the effort, win, goals. Just the lack of creativity, despite being very clever.

Re: Norwich v Burnley Sunday 15th Dec Match thread
Feels a crucial moment. Every season has one you look back on.
Leeds and Sheffield both failed to win here.
We were rank first half, despite a decent attacking line up. After 47 mins we were excellent, and they couldn’t handle us. Their defence ships too many goals to handle us. Whereas we played 95 minutes without conceding again which won us the game as much as our goals. Credit to Parker, the Laurent sub seemed negative, the next subs seemed weird. But it worked.
We have so much more improving to do, if we are in touch after the Rovers game we win this league. Next few tough games are vital now.

It feels like we're in a new age for Burnley fans. I remember a time when blood, sweat and giving it all was respected and enough, and I'm not even that old. I guess the entitlement tag to some fans comes because it clearly isn't enough nowadays - it's all about how crap technically we are. Then, we've got people saying Parker is clueless despite having 2 promotions behind him and having us in 3rd spot, and serious contenders for promotion. Fans might not like his style, but some of the garbage and opinions written about him and the players are disgusting really. As someone said, it's really is bile and vitriolic.
No one is saying we were great in the 1st half, but we weren't 3 down and staring down the barrel. As we've shown the game was there for us to get back in it and win. This match threads stink when it is so reactionary to every misplaced pass, decision, etc.

Norwich have only lost once at home in the past 12 months - a 0-2 loss against Bristol City when their squad was decimated by injuries. The BBC match report confirms it.

There’s a whopper on X called Nathan Rogers who tweeted mid game he hopes Barnes scores in the 90th minute as the ‘final nail in Parker’s coffin’. Think he posts on here too. That’s the weird kind of moron we are dealing with.
