Re: Parker
Half time team talk worked as did the subs today
Re: Parker
Where’s all the Parker neighsayers tonight?
Average squad, no in his prime striker, and youth everywhere, yet he’s still pulling performances out of the bag.
Brilliant.

Definitely deserves credit given the difference between the first half and second

Re: Parker
Subs changed the game. Not sure if Sarmiento’s departure was enforced or whether Parker saw it as an opportunity to change things - but Laurent improved us immediately.
Re: Parker
I think the whinging reached a hysterical crescendo when Laurent came on, but it was a great substitution.

Re: Parker
We came out with more urgency in the second half so whatever he said must have had an impact. The subs paid off too, full credit for that second half
Re: Parker
Fantastic away result. Great subs. Well done team and management.

Re: Parker
Not sure why, he offers something a bit like Berge did for us, a presence and can carry the ball. Fleming put himself about nicely and gave the back line something to think about too as the first half it was a cakewalk for them.
Hannibal, love him or hate him can distract teams with his antics, and his energy is unquestionable.
Fair play to the team as that's a hard place to come back from and win..
Re: Parker
Let’s get the behind the manager and team and see where it takes us. Never seen so many sulky whinging fans in my 45 years supporting the clarets

Re: Parker
First half was awful and they all looked lethargic and out of ideas
Second half was the opposite, full of verve and determination.
It's on ALK now to bring in some quality at the front end of the pitch, we are desperate for better out wide.

No sane person reads that thread, so I'm not going to, but I bet they were all shouting for his head, without giving the opposition, and their home record any credit whatsoever

The game turned in our favour after that, although we'd started to get on top even before then.

Re: Parker
One here. Well done to him and the players in the 2nd half. An incredible turnaround from a lacklustre first half. More urgency, more willingness to attack what must be a vulnerable back line and the passing was more accurate and crisply delivered. A deserved win especially after losing two players early in each half.
More of the same and who knows, I might be won over.

Re: Parker
Good management. Also, players showed their fighting spirit in the second half. We battled our way back and won at a club that had an 11-month unbeaten home record. Excellent result.

Re: Parker
We're 3rd for Christmas.
Every single Claret would have taken that last August.
Well done Parker and staff. Football lacking style and influence on the pitch but 3rd with a shedloads of injuries at this point of the season is pretty remarkable considering what Parker inherited.

Re: Parker
I wouldn’t totally say Parker’s subs changed the game, combination of Sarmiento getting injured, Norwich sitting in trying to counter and then a worldy from Flemming

No roberts
Light up top due to injuries
We just won at against a team with one of if not the best home record in the league
Parker deserved massive credit and in my opinion you’re way off
First half was poor - it’s almost like the opposition had good players and tried to win the game ?
Luckily football is played over 90 minutes

Laurent has had some good games, and I put his second half today as good as any he has shown. With some tough games coming up I would start him everyone of those games playing the role he did today, because of his experience and composure. Reminds me a bit of a young Jordan Henderson

Re: Parker
I can empathise in part with your view, as I was one of the very few who were there calling out Kompany early into last season. I was met with the same ‘feedback’ you are being met with now.
The difference, yours is based on absolute nonsense, we’re third in arguably the most difficult league in the world to get out of.

Re: Parker
I’d love to see Scott Parker learn from this lack of creativity that we have seen and find the tonic because he can clearly get us to keep things tight. We didn’t create again today but it’s one hell of a result.
Will one of these results eventually turn out to be the springboard the team needs to show that attacking nouse?

With any luck Foster will be fit soon, and the window opens in just over two weeks. We are achieving these results without a strike force. If we are clever this side can only grow

Just start the next home game the same as the second half today, but maybe with two upfront and go for it,get in front, and let them chase the game!
