Not sure our options at right back allow for much else, Humphreys has ‘done a job’, we are currently looking at a right full back according to the media. We’ve not seen Sambo to comment. Hannibal has played as an attacking/advanced number 8 throughout his career. Laurent has commented several times his preferred role is a number 8 rather than a 6 (defensive midfielder) but is happy to play wherever - he did well yesterday making attacking runs in fact. Egan-Riley has been a right back for most of his career until this season.KRBFC wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 2:29 pmPlaying a left footed centre half at right back is truly insane. Change the shape and play with 3 centre halves if you don’t want to play a recognised right back.
Hannibal is not an attacking midfielder nor is he a right winger.
Against Derby he had Laurent playing left wingNo wonder we were so toothless.
Egan Riley has played right back.
Rodriguez came on at right wing.
Flemming has played everywhere but his natural position.
Laurent is a defensive midfielder, like Hannibal why is he playing an advanced role?
Then we get into the actual team selection, we’ve got the best central defender in the league yet we insist on playing the 3 Josh’ in midfielder at home to Derby, why does our defence need such protection? It’s negative for no reason, you could argue we’d have been better playing just Cullen on his own with 2 strikers and 3 in behind.
The Derby thing, I tend to agree with the sentiment, all I’d say is with 3 games in a week Luca & Jay were rested and Hountondji isn’t fancied, I think you have even commented he doesn’t look like a footballer, or something along those lines. Aside from that we don’t really have many / any available attacking options to come in, which has been an issue all season really.
