'Pie man'

My mate can't be distracted from his overpriced and poor quality pie despite the fact that we have just scored.

Good to see 1fatclaret making a rare appearance on the messageboard.

Still, he deserves some limited respect and a couple of decades off after submitting over seven hundred thousand posts on the various incarnations of this site.

According to a poll he was voted one of the most 'full of ****' influencers on all social media platforms.

Given that he is rapidly entering his 70's please have some consideration if you unfortunately cross paths with him on the way to the Turf. He is now largely docile due to his prescribed medication but can explode into mania in a split second. The last time I saw him was in the 'Spoons where he had been in an altercation with a member of staff regarding the poaching of his Eggs Benedict.

Shortly afterwards, he started chomping at his own toes and I just legged it, only to be struck by a mobility scooter outside the White Lion.

I'm not sure whether his eyes were closed due to the culinary delight or that his Cheese and Onion pie was lodged in a golf ball sized mass somewhere in his throat area.

Nearly as horrendous as the stuff our very own water companies discharge into our water courses and coastline day after day with pathetic levels of punishment. But that's another topic. Sorry.

Having not lived in Burnley for nearly 50 years now, I love seeing these snapshots of the town.

Ditto. As a last winter project I made a sixteen picture collage of Burnley and area. Some pictures I copied from this site, others I pulled off the 'net. Some I pulled from the 'net may not have been of Burnley, but the geography was very similar.

I very much doubt anyone gives a flying feck what view they’re greeted with when they alight the train in Burnley in all honesty. It’s not like the town has a tourist industry to worry about . Sure it’s a tatty town it really is , but there’s a very gradual ( snail like) regeneration it seems .

I saw an otter in that exact spot.

It came down the side of the boards, plunked into the canal, and came out my side (towpath side) with a substantial signal crayfish.

I frequently run and cycle on the canal along this length, so I'm familiar with this. On the whole, the towpath and surroundings are in excellent shape.
This (I think it's 1 Colne Road?) is very much an exception and I don't think typifies the waterway at all. (It's only visible from the towpath as well.)
The process of repairing/tidying this would be significant due to the banking and it is adjoining private property. I do hope it's tidied up.
