Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
Captain Travis and defender Pickering both out with long term injury. Both will miss our game at Deadwood
Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
Real shame that as we will beat them with or without them two. They will only make excuses when we murder them.
They are in a false position, a really poor side in reality.
We are “clicking” big time now and will only get better from here on in.
Let them open their top tier so more of their clowns can see us wipe the floor with them - because we will !

I think the arrogance from some fans and calling them crap is the exact reason i hated Blackburn as kid, I guess its the cycle of football.

Yeah, I don’t really get this. They’re clearly a decent side and will undoubtedly give us a tough game.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 9:07 amI think the arrogance from some fans and calling them crap is the exact reason i hated Blackburn as kid, I guess its the cycle of football.

Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
I’ll always take any advantage we can get when we play them …. I must admit … it’s not a fixture I enjoy
I imagine it was the same for some of them when we were the massive underdogs
We are expected to win … they expect to lose
But football doesn’t work like that sometimes does it

Can't say I watch them unless they play us. Are these, 2 of their best players?

Travis is a decent player who always puts in a shift imo worth a bid in January

Yes because he would never get any stick from the Burnley fans would he!?!Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 9:43 amTravis is a decent player who always puts in a shift imo worth a bid in January
How many players have we signed from Blackburn over the last 100 years?

Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
I will be delighted with a draw and then get on with the rest of the season.Bowclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 1:25 amReal shame that as we will beat them with or without them two. They will only make excuses when we murder them.

Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
If we signed their captain I suspect our fans would be hailing him a new hero and winding them up about being a feeder club.
Might backfire if he ends up being underwhelming.

Buying a player who's out with a long term injury makes little sense.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 9:43 amTravis is a decent player who always puts in a shift imo worth a bid in January

And one who’s also nowhere near as good as those we already have in his position.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 11:40 amBuying a player who's out with a long term injury makes little sense.

Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
I think Beck is a better player than Pickering, he was excellent at the Turf. Travis is a big loss for them though.
Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
Why only one?
Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
I'm in the "snap your hand off for a 0-0" camp. We've got the better players but we did back in August too and made a right dog's dinner of it.
Travis will be a loss for them. Beck is a good left back going off the little I've seen of him and you'd imagine he'd play over Pickering anyway.

Re: Rovers lose Travis and Pickering long term
Errr 17 played for both ... OK not all signed from B'tards ... but played at least 1 game for either.

Can't believe Keith Newton isn't on that list, Moggy!
One of the best full backs we've ever had in my lifetime.

Certainly not in the heat of a keenly contested
East Lancs derby.
Depends on which side handle the occasion
better.
That, and a bit of luck.
As some have said, I'd be perfectly happy with a draw.

There will be a lot less free kicks with Travis not playing. He is one of the dirtiest players out there at the minute.
