Merry Christmas to all fellow clarets, a great top 3 / War of the Roses Boxing Day clash await! Been looking forward to this for a few weeks now!
Hoping for a prosperous 3 points away from home (2-1 Brownhill, CJER)
Safe travels for those setting of shortly for dreaded Yorkshire. UTC

You’re predicting that C J Egan Riley is going to get the winning goal, right? Have you seen a clairvoyant recently?

I wonder if we'll go same again, with Sarmiento strenthening the bench.
I'd definitely start Hannibal. These are the games he has to start in.

Exactly the same XI for me, with the weapons of Koleosho and Sarmiento from the bench.

Didn't say winning goal ha. Opening goal, header my dreams are telling me.
Also gets you 50/1 on bet365 if you are that way inclined.

Just arrived in Sheffield from Chrimbo in Burnley…..a quick pit stop in my house then heading off for lunch and beers in 5 mins then an away end seat. Lots of Clarets travelling over the Snake. Fog parted and blue skies over Yorkshire, with luck, a good omen.

Won’t be joining you this afternoon. Sadly a rosary mass followed by the funeral tomorrow of a friend means I’m out of circulation 3-6pm. Priorities but you know where my thoughts will be. UTC.

Personally I'd bring in Koleosho for Laurent to give us an extra threat in behind and on the counter attack (see the away game at Leeds) and because I think Hannibal might help us keep the ball better in central areas than Laurent. Flemming vs Rodriguez is a toss up.

Leeds away was the previous "biggest test of the season", but today trumps that. My perception is that although Sheff U were actually weaker than us last season and that took some doing, they got a smoother, more organised summer window and recruited well. They seem to be the strongest all round team over the first half of the season and the league reflects that. A positive result for us today could well be season defining, but it's going to be bloody tough.

Wish they could make the effort to show the line-up in a logical manner (yes, I know that's not so easy with Hannibal on the left-wing).

I'm reasonably optimistic going into today. This Burnley team seems to play to the level of their competition. If that holds, we should see some good performances today.
