THe Man City Bench Today

Post by warksclaret » Thu Dec 26, 2024 11:24 am

This is either Guardiola trying to make a point, or they have more players on the treatment table than us. I suspect Guardiola has a nasty side to him and now keeping people out the squad who he feels have been contributory to an unprecedented set of results. I must say its quite satisfying seeing a lot of Man City fans going into their shell or squirming

And yet it's still extremely strong.

Aye, imagine only having De Bruyne and Gundogan to bring on.

De Bruyne and Gundogan, although undoubtedly excellent players, are nothing like they were a couple of years ago. That bench shows that even with extraordinary funding, it's nigh on impossible to account for injuries.

Rodri, Stones, Dias, Ederson, Bobb... all injured.

Yup. Some managers really do have it tough.

They have a thousand CBs so that one doesn't hold.

Rodri is probably the main reason for their collapse.

I think De Bruyne might be off in January. Fine player whose career has been ravaged by injuries.

Pep screwed up letting them grow old together. Walker, Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan +others into their 30s. Some of the younger lads seem off their best possibly down to the Summer Euros tournament. Young lads bodies can’t take 12month football.
Loving every minute of it.

Everton could pay for City's rubbish run. Better defend better than the last time in Mcr.

Playing pretty well, Everton.
Strange though, watching a City side these days, being merely OK.

Haaland's got a face like a slapped arse and despite all his talent he comes over as a total knob.

The oil state can just give him another billion quid to sprinkle on the team (that they havent earned) and I'm sure he'll get them firing again...

Wonder whether SD said to Guardiola:

"Look on the bright side amigo, at least you didn't have to go to Turf Moor on Boxing Day"
