I will be suprised if we sign a left back. The two we have, have played a part in conceding only 9 goals, i cant see Parker being concerned in that area. I also feel Humphreys loan contract might have him needing to play a certain amount of games or we have to pay Chelsea. Thats only speculation but hes played or come on as a sub in almost every game hes been available for including playing out of position on the right side on occasions.
And to add to that Luke Thomas isn’t any better than either of them. Very average player.

Don’t know anything about Thomas but there’s no way we’ll be in for a LB with Humphreys and Pires able to play there and Dodgson on the books.

I’m a fan of Pires but last few games Humphreys has looked much better going forward and is clearly the better defender so that’s his position now.

Makes me think the rest of the article is rubbish too.

Whilst we have always been there or thereabouts this season, I think there has already been a fair degree of pressure like when we scored 4 goals in 8 games.

He's been calm and steady. It bodes well for the battles ahead.

Good point. Hopefully we’re now benefiting from his experiences elsewhere as a manager. Part of the problem with Kompany was that he was so young and inexperienced whereas Parker has been around the block a bit and also had some time out to reflect.

I was one of Muric’s fans but he’s definitely crashed and burned since the back end of last season however I don’t think anyone can deny what cracking entertaining he gave us in his first season.

Humphreys isn’t a concern…..but I personally don’t think Pires is up to the required standard. Therefore, another left back (maybe a specialist left back with a bit of experience) would strengthen us and allow squad rotation with Humphreys. Pires is a very strange player but ultimately I don’t think he’s good enough for what we need.

If the other rumours are true, then he may be willing to go to Fiorentina and Lazio.
They are more likely to progress in the European comps than Rangers or Celtic

I'd be surprised if Rangers had anybody on that sort of money. I can see him ending up as as a squad player at somewhere like Wolves or West Ham.
