Seeing Burnley play at different grounds

Those who tot up the number of grounds where they have seen Burnley... when it comes to Wembley, do you count old Wembley and new Wembley as 1 or 2 grounds visited?

The myGrounds app which I know many on here use ( I’m on 151) show both old Wembley and new as two entries.
Old Wembley closed in 2000 I think.

I have just done MyGrounds, as suggested. I could only sign up to Wembley as a Totteringham visit. Could not find it by typing Wembley.

My total (without old Wembley) is 99 in England and Wales, where I have seen Burnley play. My hundredth Ground in Eng/Wales will be B'tard Rovers! (Or maybe 101 if Old Wembley counts!)

In addition, I can add Ibrox, Pittodrie in Aberdeen and Olympiakos stadium.

Nothing compared to some, for sure, however, I am pleased to have the ton up of league matches.

Wigan Athletic is a completely different location.
They share the ground with Wigan Worriers.

I tend to look at it as clubs I’ve travelled to, then their grounds ie Derby one club visited but at 2 grounds.

Wembley just the one albeit my age gives it away that I’ve been to both old and new…………(and even had a bath, and a shower in the old stadiums changing rooms!)

I class Wigan as 3 grounds !! It was when John Bond was the manager and I think we lost 1- 0 . We got that ****** before the game in the "upper morris street working mens club " , that we went to central park not Springfield

Yes and I guess Spurs would count as the same

I think if it’s same location, even if that ground has rotated, or slightly moved (Bloomfield road), it’s the same place and counts as one.

Wembley and Spurs are one.

Complete change in location (Arsenal, derby, etc) count as 2.

If proclaiming “I’ve been to …football league grounds” grounds only count if visited whilst the team was in the football league, and still count if relegated out the league, however if you visit a non-league ground watching Burnley (likely a friendly) and they subsequently get promoted, that doesn’t count until visited in a football league or cup game, whilst they are in the league.

My thoughts are that if a ground is completely rebuilt but the new stadium still occupies part of the footprint of the previous ground then it is just the same one.

I may be incorrect but I understand that Wembley didn't change orientation when it was rebuilt. Spurs new place moved but is still on some of the site of the original White Hart Lane.

If Man Utd go ahead with a brand new building close to Old Trafford then I would consider it 2 different grounds.

I'm sure that there are plenty of other examples.

There can't be many teams who've played in as many divisions as us over the last 40/50 years so I reckon Dave Burnley must be the fan who has seen HIS club at more grounds than any other fan

I count it as one as it was rebuilt on the same site as was Tottenham and Bournemouth but clubs that have moved
count as 2 grounds Sunderland,Bolton etc ..
I count a ground that has hosted league football as a league ground (although not officially part of 'the 92' )
quite a few presently in non-league and a few bulldozed ..
Seen us play at Southport's Haig Avenue albeit a few years after being demoted from the league in the Manx Cup ..
Odsall, Bradford hosted league football for a while after the fire, Bournemouth played a few games at Dorchester
but i don't think Burnley ever played at them ..

But they are two completely different grounds, not quite on the same footprint either and total rebuilds from scratch. Likewise Bournemouth and Spurs.

It's virtually the same location but turned ninety degrees. Bournemouth consider it to be a new ground which it is.

Not sure why you should think that. It's the same ground that they played at before they went wandering to play their home games at Crystal Palace and West Ham for a while, in fact the current away stand was there before they moved out.

Wigan Athletic I think played at Springfield Park before their move? I saw Nelson play at Springfield Park when I was around 10.
I've seen Burnley play in a number of stadium's that no longer exist.... A few from the top of my head..
Doncaster Belle Vue
Rotherham Millmoor
Maidstone United...played somewhere in Dartford
Stoke City Victoria Ground
Hull City Boothferry Park
Spurs old white hart lane
middlesbro Ayresome Park

I missed Burnley at
Huddersfield Town's Leeds Road,
Reading Elm Park
Scunthorpe United X2
Wimbledon, Plough Lane (I would say the new Plough Lane would be a new ground)
Highbury.
MK Dons national hockey centre (franchise)
Darlington Feethams
Swansea Vetch Field
Chester City though I did see our first game in the new Deva stadium)

It's moved, albeit not far, from the original footprint and it is a completely new stadium with the two centre spots not in the same place. But even if they were, it's a completely new stadium and having the same name counts for nothing, both of Millwall's grounds have been called The Den and they are not the same ground.

Of Wembley there is no argument at all, it's two completely different stadiums.

I use the footballgroundmap.com website thing. It doesn't let you know who you were watching, but it works out how many grounds Bournemouth counts as etc for you.

They go down as far as east sussex second tier, and possibly beyond, so I'm up to 269 now, including all sorts of non-entities that rye have played in cup games.

Bournemouth have always said it's two and rightly so. The first one was demolished, they went and played at a non-league ground for a time until the new one was built.
