4 points

Post by hoosier-daddy » Sun Dec 29, 2024 9:51 pm

I bet most of us would have taken 4 points from playing Sheffield United and Middlesborough away.

Now let's do Stoke.

Could have drawn vs Sheffield United and won tonight. Got to be ok with 4 points though.

Happy with 4 points, but with a set of balls it could have been 6.

tough opponents, and away games, nothing other than praise for collecting points in these fixtures.

We will feel better about it in the morning
I guess there’s an expectation of winning every game after recent results but Boro are a decent side
Yes 4 points v two top away teams is great

4 points from those two games is very good. I am genuinely surprised at some of the negative comments on the players ratings thread. Neither of the two best teams in the division laid a glove on us in their own back yards. We created two excellent chances against Boro but didn’t take them …which happens. We look increasingly threatening as well as monumentally solid. I am really not sure what some people expect.

A lot of the people who come on here posting negative comments, particularly after an excellent point away at Middlesbrough, know little about football.

I would like to bet that they don't go to games either.

It's an excellent return.
As is 10 points from 12 from Norwich away, Watford home, Blades away, and Boro away.

We're doing just fine.

I can get the disappointment from last night, we weren’t quite up to our recent standards.

Even so, we could and probably should have won it, with the two great chances that Brownhill was presented with (although it’s harsh to criticise him considering his season’s goal tally, to date).

Four points from those two games is a great return though.

The key thing now is to make the most of those points on the road and get a win against Stoke. We’ve cracked our away form, it’s getting the home form in order that is key for me - that means fans on side and backing the team!

I think this thread from 14th of December needs bringing back up ...

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=78920#p2464588

3 wins and a draw from 1st of the 9 matches ...

That puts us ahead of the curve surely ...

From tomorrow till the end of Jan are going to tell us a lot about where we will finish. I know that's a bit of a cliche but some tough old fixtures in there! In some of them I would be happy for SP to be grinding out a 0-0 or sneaking a 1-0 win.

Sunday 15th December
Norwich City vs Burnley ... won 3 points

Saturday 21st December
Burnley vs Watford ... Won 3 points

Thursday 26th December
Sheffield United vs Burnley ... Won 3 points

Sunday 29th December
Middlesbrough vs Burnley ... Drew 1 point

Wednesday 1st January
Burnley vs Stoke City

Saturday 4th January
Blackburn Rovers vs Burnley

Friday 17th January
Burnley vs Sunderland

Wednesday 22nd January
Plymouth Argyle versus Burnley

Monday 27th January
Burnley vs Leeds United
Lets keep it up 6 goals for just 2 against
