I only watched on TV but from what I saw he appeared to be one of the better referees we have had this season. He let play go on when he could and didn’t stop play for free kicks after the slightest of contacts.

My take too. I'm sure I heard the TV commentator say that Mr Smith had already been allocated a few EPL games to officiate this season, so I'd expect that he'll be getting promoted along with us come the end of this season.

Other than letting the game flow more than we usually see, I can’t remember too much about him. That has to be a good sign so…

He refereed us in the Premier League last season and had a game in 2022/23.

He’s had us in the prem and had a couple this year. Although they seem to have dried up and they’re pushing the other Smith instead now. Either way he’s one I’d want doing our games more.
