He stamped down on his stomach instead of avoiding the player haha

If you honestly think there was nothing else he could have done you are simply being biased

United sent him on loan abroad, they sent him back as the manager could not trust him to stay on the pitch. Was always a walking red card. Two years later he is no better. You cannot change stupid people.

He definitely stamped in my opinion , could have avoided it or at least made an attempt to avoid. I wonder if theirs any previous history between the two as it seemed entirely unwarranted in the context of the match

Look on the bright side. I was thinking that Hannibal might get sent off v Rovers. He won't now and we may finish that game with 11 men.

It’s a shame because I have been liking his new role off the left hand side in our 4-4-2 since Watford at home. Ironically we missed what he provided in that game today. And now we miss him for the Blackburn game where we could have done with his energy.

I take it Reading will be 1 of the 3 games he misses?

If Daryl Davis can get Klansmen to give up their robes, then a manager can get a 21 yr old lad (who will naturally calm down as he ages) to stop with daft things like that.

If I’m honest Coolclaret I think he’s like Muric, I don’t think he lost his head today I just think he’s an erratic player. I don’t think he will change, he’s been close to the edge a lot of times this season and today he crossed that line.

Stupid stamp today, but it’s not unexpected as he seems to lose it most games. So we now miss him for three games, I guess he’ll still get paid though.
Special shout out to the fans clapping him off after that, what the hell were you clapping?

He's 21.

Wazza did similar when he was younger. He cut that out as he got older. Big moment for him now, he needs to learn from it - simply writing him off doesn't solve anything.

I think if it was an attitude problem like Wazza I would agree. But I just think this is his personality, he likes the wind up.

I think he’s got similar issues to Muric. I don’t think Muric will ever change from being this erratic keeper and I don’t think Hannibal will either

The moron literally ran over his chest and I think his total lack of arguing the refs decision spoke volumes! Having watched it back several times, it’s just bad and gets worse each time you watch it in my opinion.

He clearly plays on the edge discipline wise, and today he just completely lost it. Hopefully he learns from it because it’s going to cost him his place in the team and maybe even a fine, not that this seems to bother players these days!

Hannibal: "Hey Boss, I've got a party this Friday. Can I be rested for the Rovers game?"

Parker: "Sorry mate. We need you on Saturday. You'll have to pass on the party"

H: "No way man. I need to go."

Parker: "You can party at the end of the season"

H: "We'll see"

Winks to Koleosho as he walks away. The rest is history !

The guy is an absolute liability , offers very little and is clearly an absolute loon , seemingly always teetering on a yellow /red . Though worth noting the histrionics from the Stoke player were embarrassing. While he is rated as a talent by Man Utd , and undoubtedly has excellent technical skills , he surely needs some lesser euro league to further his game allied to some decent dopamine balancing drugs .

I'm not sure it is a mistake and I don't really think an adult should need to learn not to stamp on someone. It's really nasty behaviour, nevermind how brainless it is.

Whilst it's not a stamp and maybe being over egged slightly it's still a deliberate attempt to trod on a player and quite moronic.
Hannibal knew exactly what he was doing and thought he could get away with it without there being an actual stamping motion by pretending his moment and direction took him over the player. Unfortunately the ref was too close and not fooled and immediately called it for what it was. Hannibal didn't complain once he knew he had been busted and in all honesty it was a poor attempt at a nasty bit of a play.

Has been a revelation on the left recently and has made a very childish mistake today letting down everyone, including himself, that he needs to reflect on and learn from.

Can’t help thinking those with the biggest overreactions are allowing the general team performance and resulting frustration at the result to be focussed (very easily) upon Hannibal.

Then again, I am old enough to remember a very silly lad called David Beckham, who once made a similar silly mistake. His career didn’t turn out to badly in the end.

I think it is important to note that the Hannibal red card was not the reason we did not get 3 points today and I think your right, some people's feelings of that are being channeled into an easy target here.

I agree with Conroy on this , and it's so annoying because I thought he'd started to really improve over the last few weeks . A bit of an overreaction saying he should never play for us again , he's young and hopefully learn . I loved the Kevin Ball was just clumsy comment , brilliant.

He's played a big role in the recent away performances so some of the comments above are complete ********. He was thick today in allowing the previous treatment of the full back get to him. Prior to today, I thought he'd walked the right side of the shithouse line in general and for me did not look like being close to a red in previous games. I'm not impressed with the stamp because there was nothing to be gained. If we being bullied and roughed up fair enough. Still, I'd rather have his energy and desire than Tresor who when played **** out of every challenge going. He will bounce back and we will benefit from having him in the team.

And this was always my worry when people were gobbing off about how he would be our new shithouse (like Barnes). He’s a liability. Winds himself up more than anyone else.

Shocking today - should be miles away from the starting 11 when his ban is served.

Hope he can learn, but I seriously doubt it. Strikes me as the sort of player who believes he already knows it all.

Where it was headed if he stayed in stride, on the turf. He alters direction to step on the Stoke player. Not a stamp, but just as culpable.

He has ability but he needs to harness it in the right way.

Scott Parker has this one spot on... It will be deal with internally and we move on.

Ref should have sent the right back off before it when got to the stamp. He took Hannibal out at the side of the pitch which he got booked for and then held him back which stopped a break 2 minutes later.

Ref bottled it

Over time memory can do a lot of things it plays tricks. If you are referring to the simeone incident when beckham was on the deck kicking out it’s slightly different & dare I say more painful actually trampling on somebody when on the deck from a standing position.

To me, it's one of those things that happens coz he's got some deep-rooted psychological issue that needs addressing. Why did Suarez bite someone in the heat of the moment? Obviously, the gravity of this is much less, but something triggered him to run onto his chest rather than jumping over him, which he could easily have done. I don't think it's a case of just stupidity - it'll be something deeper in his makeup and it needs sorting out coz he ain't got the quality of a Suarez, and he'll waste his career with further outbursts if he isn't careful.
Deep rooted psychological issues ? Give it a break mate half of the country would be in Caldestones if everyone thought like you ,he’s an hot headed young guy that’s committed a minor offence .Has England capt Ben Stokes the same problem for smacking someone or Gerrard for doing similar or was John Prescott for thumping a guy or Akinbyi or Barton or Stan Ternent et al?
