Airport transport
Airport transport
Morning all
As the thread title suggests, can anyone recommend a reliable airport transport service from Burnley to Manchester airport for this summer. I’ve googled and emailed a few requesting quotes not had a response from any.
Cheers.

Re: Airport transport
I've used numerous taxi/private hire firms in the past, but last time I used the bus into Manchester and then got the tram to the airport. I found it surprisingly straightforward.
The tram cost me £4.60.

Re: Airport transport
Few people had bad experiences but I've always found it to be spot on using Max Cabs in Accy.
I did just use the Just Park app and park next to the airport a couple weeks ago and got an uber into the airport which was easy enough.

Cheers! Cheap and effective - not thought about that option although have thought of the train before. However, four big cases and two kids puts me off the idea a bit!fidelcastro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:51 amI've used numerous taxi/private hire firms in the past, but last time I used the bus into Manchester and then got the tram to the airport. Thanks. Did you have to pay a daily fee for the Just Park. What was the location like for security etc?

Message Paul Spam MoorHouse from Padiham on Facebook.
There's a woman from Padiham who does airport runs called Jayne, but I can't remember her last name sorry.

Re: Airport transport
Worked out about £5 a day.... Location was great on someone's private drive in a built up area.
Depending how long you go for it's not much difference just parking at airport once taxis are accounted for.

Re: Airport transport
I used Alan Hosker from Padihams company recently, absolutely detested the bloke as a referee and wouldnt say we will ever see eye to eye but his driver is spot on and ill use them again this year.
We were delayed 6 hours coming home and they didnt complain at all which i was amazed about.
Google 'Alans First Choice Taxis' Padiham
Low cost as well

Re: Airport transport
Ride charge around £60 ,you can put the app on your phone and they’ll give you a price instantly ,we catch the train from Tod straight to the Airport and one change at Victoria and can be as cheap as £10-40 and up to £16 .

Re: Airport transport
Ive used the train several times to get to the airport without any problems.
From Piccadilly it takes around 15 minutes, probably around 30 minutes from Victoria.
As mentioned above, you can also get the tram but it does take much longer, around 45 minutes from the city centre.

Re: Airport transport
Thanks for your suggestions. I have messaged/emailed a number of the businesses put forward and will await any correspondence.
The train idea is something I’ll definitely consider in the future when the kids are older but after a long haul flight through the night the convenience of jumping straight into a mini bus wins out this time.

Re: Airport transport
Max have never let me down on an airport run but I can’t speak for other people.
Coming home, unless it’s rush hour it’s often cheaper and easier to just book an Uber once you land and clear passport control/baggage.

Re: Airport transport
We use Eric's transport, very good.
Don't use Alan's from padiham, shocking vans and driver was falling asleep bringing our family home. Had to tell him to pull over

Re: Airport transport
How did that end?
Did he pull over?
Take an hours nap?
Send for another driver?
Let you drive?
Or just carry on driving?
Re: Airport transport
Train/Bus/Tram is very easy if there’s only 1 or 2 of you with backpacks for a weekend away. It won’t be worth all the hassle with 4 people with cases etc to save £20.
