Foster off the left and Barnes up top for me.
Nah get Kolo on the left Barnes up top and tell the wingers to go around the outside and beat their man and get some crosses in.

He's been dreadful under Parker though
Vs Stoke he beat his man twice in the space of a few minutes and put in 2 good crosses. His reward was to be immediately subbed off and dropped for the next game. Think that says a lot about what Parker wants from his wingers and why he's been playing as he has.

Parker seems to disagree, says we're looking for one this window.

Humphreys has been poor. Improved the game on Wednesday when he came on for Pirez but looks half asleep today.

Very similar to the first half against Stoke. Defended well, dominated the ball for large periods of the game and played some decent football but we just don't look like creating chances and scoring.

Feels like another games where the subs could be the difference and whilst I hope Im wrong but I have little confidence that Parkers subs will be anything other than obvious like for likes. Koleosho for Sarmiento, one of the attackers (probably Jay) for Flemming and Pires for Humphries and if still level towards the end only then we might throw on another striker (Barnes) and go for it, but that might be to late by then.

If we grab a goal from somewhere Im confident we'll win but we need to be better in the final third for that to happen

We don’t look remotely like scoring. Rovers could scramble one from a corner

We've looked comfortable. Blackburn haven't really threatened us and we've contained them well. Defensively we've been fantastic.

It really looked like we'd begun to find that secret sauce against Sheffield but since then we've gone on to have three shots on target in 235 minutes of football.

We've been through enough variations of players now for me to be under the impression that it's the system that would require tweaking, so I'm not expecting the subs we have to make too much of a difference, no reason for Parker to switch anything too drastic when I think we'd all be happy with a 0-0 draw, which would be good and fair. Boring game.
We haven’t threatened either. We cannot continue to be offensively dogshit for the rest of the season.

Two excellent defences the story of that half. Blackburn sitting deep, compact and working extremely hard, any space has been when Egan-Riley has zinged them into Anthony or Humphreys, while we defend with a high line and seem to read the play quite well. I’d keep going direct to be honest and look for second balls. Luca and Lyle possibly on if things don’t really change in the next 15.

The only problem being is that's where Browny operates best...

Need to get some aggression up front and get Foster on asap
Sarmiento is powder puff and when we attack no one is in their box
Their defence are having it too easy

Both defences better than the opposing forwards. Think referees done well in limiting the yellow cards, though Cantwell's a player who always looks like he deserves a slap, so got to allow some leeway when someone kicks him

We have strangled the game and quietened the crowd.

Now the job is to kick on and win it. As Stoke nearly showed, if we are too passive the risk becomes we concede.

I’d put Luca on for Laurent, move Sarmiento inside.

Anthony has put some good quality crosses in, just no one attacking them - though I do agree with going round the outside, i just think Foster is a powerful dribbler and I liked how he looked coming off the left when he played there against City!

Take off Laurent and bring on a striker.

Esteve and Egan RIley don't need protecting with Brownhill, Cullen and Laurent all Infront of them. They're far too good individually to need such protection. Take a leaf out of Kompany's book and play with 2 number 10, 2 wingers and a striker. 4141

I find it baffling the comments on the refs trying to let the game flow, is that including the numerous unpunished late challenges that have gone in? This refs making a rod for his own back where they will see exactly how far they can push it second half !

I don’t think fosters head is right tbh and Kolo is due a decent game. Getting Barnes on is a must though.

I’ve seen one good cross from Anthony obv under instructions not to go on the outside which is madness.

Kompany’s most successful spell as manager was when he used Cork, Cullen, and Brownhill together.

As soon as he moved to the setup you’ve suggested above, we became a lily-livered pile of dogger that stunk the place out.

Then you're dropping Brownhill into a deeper role, where he isn't as effective?

Also, not sure if you remember but the last time we played here Wharton was dominating the game, we were up against it a bit then Corky came on, cropped him, then we started gaining momentum and Benson whipped it in the corner. Hardly a complete domination like you often make out every VK game in the champ was.
