So 3 of a possible 11. So hardly about equal.
And personally 2 of those I wouldn't put ahead of our players in a starting 11.
I think the squads are ultimately pretty well matched. I think you can make an argument about Vinni Souza vs Laurent, and Kieffer Moore vs Flemming as well, plus Tyrese Campbell is a good player who gives them a good option off the right flank.
We might have an edge but it's marginal and Brereton Diaz is a decent signing for this level.
Having signed Barnes, my guess is our focus this month is one wide forwards in the Tella mould and/or more creativity in that area behind the striker (depending in part on the prognosis for Tresor, Redmond and Ramsey).

There’s really not a lot between the two squads.
I think if you were asking an impartial to pick they would be 50/50
Realistically mine would probably look like
Trafford
Roberts, Egan Riley, Esteve, Burrows
Hamer, Brownhill, Ohare
Rak Sakyi, Flemming, Anthony

Swap o’hare for Cullen and then you have a team

Except it's Souza vs Cullen as the deepest lying midfielder. And that's no contest.
Laurent would be up against Sydie Peck / Tom Davies. Or Hamer if he gets to go back to his natural position once Diaz is in.
Attackers wise I would probably take one of theirs in a front 3 (depends on how you'd make it up). Worth noting that whilst I don't think Flemming is a striker even so he's got a better minutes per goal ratio than Moore and an assist (which Moore doesn't) playing there this season. I'd also take Foster over Moore every day of the week too.
So 2 or 3 of there's get in a combined 11 IMO. Hardly equal and they've much less depth.

Just because Cullen plays as our deepest midfielder doesn't mean it's not legitimate to say that Souza would be a upgrade on Laurent.
Overall, the squads are of a similar calibre.

Could well indirectly come down to the game with Sheff U at the Turf.....
They should have our respect, it's very tight.
Maybe our great recent head to head record helps us here mentally, we defo 'know' we can beat them.

Draw at home and win away there’s no pressure to beat DL or Sheff U .

I hear you Stonehouse, does look like it might take 93 / 94 points though this year to grab 2nd. Not trying to nit pick, just seems that it will take a bit more than usual, last year aside. 92 points and your 50/50 I reckon to go up.

I also can't believe those putting Burrows in ahead of Humphreys?
Humphreys is twice the player.
No player in this league would get into our back four.
Add to that Wilder will lose his head once the pressure ramps up, he nearly blew up after the West Brom game and there's a long way to go.
Keep calm and carry on.
We are going up.
Sheffield United will realise just how important that 2 point deduction was come the end of the season.

Looks a good player from this seasons highlights I’ve just watched. Hopefully something in it. Bloke who posted on X seems legit (as much as they can be really) for that kind of transfer news too

I was the he worked for di marzio, not sure of their credibility anymore, his market value of 7m euros made me think another loan with obligation to buy

Shame it hasn’t worked out for Massengo, tough task for hik to move the midfielders in situ now. Thought he was good against Wolves in the cup , unless we have a target in mind it doesn’t make sense .

Think Massengo moving on is best for the lad. Shame it hasn't worked out but at his age he needs to be playing.

You’d imagine we’d need another CM if Massengo leaves. Ramsay and Hannibal left there. Suspect we need a more defensive minded midfielder.

Our defence would concede with that midfield in front of them. You’ve picked the better players but not balanced the team.

Is this insider info?
That and the Massengo news would make a lot of sense given both weren’t in the squad for Rovers.
We must have another striker coming in if this is true.

Hountondji and Delcroix being offered to Liege or Antwerp and Massengo to Auxerre. Feels like these have something in them based on the volume of X chatter from the destinations.
I bet half a dozen more go too. Has the sense of a clearing the decks ready for some incomings, we have signed two, I expect two to three more, and of high quality.

SP has now had some 5/6 months to look at all squad players with Jan being the earliest time to get the one's he doesn't fancy so much out via transfers or loans
If the likes Massengo goes and it leaves us a bit short numbers wise in midfield it's because SP thinks there is better out there to come in and make a positive contribution
It makes sense and an ideal time to get some wages off the books (even if only short term) freeing up cash for better quality incomings

The Delcroix one is a bit shortsighted for me. He covers left cb and LB to a decent level (better than Pires).
I think the smarter thing to do would probably be to sell Pires as we could probably get a few million for him and then use that to reinvest.

He's 6th choice centre back now, and thats not including Beyer. Never going to play and a waste of a wage.

Fair to say the signings made this before Parker was appointed are looking poor bits of business.
Sambo and hountonji clearly aren’t the level Parker wants.
Pires clearly second choice at left back now to
Delcroix was always just cover for the prem, I do think he would be a better left back option than Pires.
Massengo needs to play so hopefully he does well and then we get a couple of million for him in the summer
Just need Tresor out the door now

“Squad” needs to be replaced with “team” in this post. I know that’s what you meant, I’m just pointing out that whilst there’s arguments to be had over the relative strengths of our first teams, there’s no argument that we have the stronger squad even with our injuries. Without them it’s not even a discussion.
As an aside, I think there’s a few who’d make our first team and definitely match day squad as things stand, but I wouldn’t be swapping squads for the run in though. Not in a million years.

Just need Tresor out the door now
Whether it was down to Kompany, the recruitment team or MUD analytics we made some shocking signings. Hard to even see the logic in some of them.

Bradford City are interested in taking Michael Mellon on loan as well as a host of other Div 2 clubs. This is a Nixon. Nugget posted on the 72 site.

He's 6th choice centre back now, and thats not including Beyer. Never going to play and a waste of a wage.
I dont understand this. RCB and LCB should be treated as separate positions in a sense. I'd have thought Delcroix is our most natural Esteve replacement if he were to get injured to maintain the balance.

Given he was at Stockport that would be a step down for him!
