i think SD can hold his head up high.
Everton have been a basket case where the environment has been toxic for both players and managers.

Re: Dyche
Thought they might have kept him till summer. Problem with Dyche's style of football is if its not getting results its god awful to watch. For a club of Evertons size going full 90 minutes without creating a chance or having a shot isn't really acceptable.

Re: Dyche
I believe he had a 15% win ratio, can't dress that up as anything other than awful. Everton have plenty of decent players that should be able to be more of a threat. He was excellent for us for a very long time, I'd be surprised if he gets another PL job tbh given how footy is nowPickles wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 5:06 pmHe was amazing for us, gave us success and memories to last a lifetime. But take all emotion and bias out of it, Everton have been crap for a while. Not just down to Dyche but when a team's crap, the manager tends to go.
(Would quite like Everton to go down, just for a laugh really. Would be something different wouldn't it.)

Parker either resigns like he's done before or Pace and Co lose patience with him.
Burnley need a new manager, who realistically is appointed with the hope of keeping us up...
Step forward Sean Dyche!

Indeed. The caretaker managers haven't had so much as a training session with the players ahead of their game tonight.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 5:14 pmDoes not sound like an amicable parting of ways. Hours before a match, not one word of thanks in the official statement.

West Ham have treated Lopetegui badly this week and the treatment of Sean Dyche hasn't been much better. The statement from Everton is appalling with not a single word of thanks.

Apart from Brathwaite Tarks and McNeil he’s had some pretty average players to work with ,but just like when he was here he relied on the likes of Young and to a degree Michael Keane who was never a fans favourite ,and their fans have thought for years that they were better than they really are so it was always going to end up him being binned.

Dyche was always on a hiding nothing, hardly surprising that he was always going to be potted. I can now fully enjoy watching Everton (hopefully) get relegated.

Had to be done, they were heading only one way under Dyche. He’s very good at keeping you up in his first couple of years but he can’t build a side that improves, instead his teams age and decline year on year, I think many felt this was the year his side ran out of legs and went down.

Re: Dyche
Had a pretty poor mismatched bunch of players to work with and very poor investment after selling their best . SD was surely their best bet for prem survival ? again … . To think the squad Lampard had only just survived compared to the mess they have atm. They’ve a fair chance of survival on paper as SD has recently negotiated most of the “ giants “ and the sheer poorness is Soton and Leicester .
Seeing Dyche’s last presser it looks like they’d already told him he was leaving ,as ever SD was pragmatic and respectful. These delusional clubs really need a wake up call .

Sadly he was always going to pay the price. New owners, new shiny stadium, an unappreciative fan base, and the perfect time to make a change. A transfer window, where as bad as they are, there are 3 more likely relegation candidates.
As others have said, he can hold his head up for the job he's done there. It won't happen but wouldn't it be sweet if they did go down. Come on Tractor Boys.

Re: Dyche
The news though expected made me feel quite sick, particularly in the way its been handled. Fortunately Sean is one of the strongest managers mentally, and he will dust himself down and come back. For me he is very much "one of our own" whatever you think of his style of football. He has been very loyal to Woan, Stone, Howard and Mercer , but I dont know what the first two contributed and how that reflected on how the team performed, or what the Everton players thought of them. Be interesting as always to see what comments come out of the Everton players.
I suspect he will take time out until Summer, but don't be surprised if Leicester go down, its too much for Nistelroy to take, and Sean steps in to add stability and focus on getting them back to the PL, rebuilding his career . He now lives in nearby Nottingham

SD badly treated by Everton, after being given little support during his tenure. Can’t believe some of the negative comments on this board about him.
I for one will always be gratefull that I witnessed his stewardship of our club!

Must admit i thought when he went to Everton he should have freshened his backroom staff up. Woan and Stone came across as nothing more than a pair of nodding dogs. Nobody at Burnley seemed to have a good word to say about Stone, in particular.

Re: Dyche
I could be misremembering but to me Dyche decline with us coincided when Loughlan left for his operation and he hasn’t been at Everton with him, unlike the rest of the back room staff
Could it be that Loughlan is the real man behind the success?

Faintly amusing to see Everton catch almost as much grief on here for potting one of our ex-managers as Bolton did in 2010 for poaching our then-current one.
As good as he was for us and whatever good he may have done at Everton when he first arrived it's been heading south at a rate of knots for a while now and from the outside looking in if you were to pick the one man whose had the most impact on them stopping up the last couple of seasons it'd probably be Pickford, not Dyche.
