Well I'm sure he'll keep them up and then take them top 10 next season, so got to be good for both.

If I was an established manager - Everton would br the last place I would want to manage
Same if I was a player
I know some great Everton fans but they have more melts than most

Everton could get Pep and spend 500 billion and their fans would still moan.

I’ll never forget a couple of seasons their Fans blocking players in the streets with bollards so they could given them playing and managerial advice ….
Don’t think Gordon returned after that
It was absolutely pathetic

Moyes keeping them up and sending Man Utd down would be a laugh

Good move by Everton.
If they had gone for an expansive footballing manager with that squad, it would be a disaster.

I just don't like him. I was relieved when he didn't pole up at TM.

Moyes is a busted flush why they sacked Sean is a puzzle Sean got dross playing well with maximum effort.Hopefully they go down

It’ll end in tears. Moyes is a legend with Evertonians, I suspect he’s about to ruin his legacy.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
moyes is a great manager, should have kept him at united, by now they would be top class.
if the money is around for the new venture at everton he will probably succeed.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
How can you compare Moyes to Dyche? Apart from negative football, at least Moyes has actually won things. Dyche isn’t fit to keep his seat warm.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 9:14 pmMoyes is a busted flush why they sacked Sean is a puzzle Sean got dross playing well with maximum effort.Hopefully they go down

He couldn't get out of the Championship though, could he?
Dyche has done it twice - as has our current manager, Scott Parker.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
A fiver on us to win the league and everton to get relegated pays about £95 so I'm risking it tomorrow.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
Ancelloti spent half a billion and signed some top players and achieved 12th place, which is what Dyche would have done had it not been for the points deduction. Lampard has worked with top players and he would have took them down.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 11:45 pmDyche hasn't much history of working with top players or recruiting them.
A big red flag for any new owners.
Moyes is a wise decision but from what I've seen he's not that popular with Evertonians despite being just about the only manager to deliver over a period since Howard Kendall.
Wise appointment but given Moyes got sacked by West Ham because the fans hated him it's a bit frying pan into the frying pan really. Mind you West Ham have just sacked the manager who took over from him so.....!

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
Moyes isn't popular with a few Everton fans because he left them for Man U. The same happened with Rooney.
A bit like some of our fans with Coyle when he left.
Dyche would prefer an experienced Ashley Young/Peter Crouch/Jon Walters/A Lennon over a foreign up and coming player who will sell more shirts.
It's not what new owners with money to spend want to hear.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
Was the last appointment the lads at work wanted, actually second to last, Rooney was least favoured.

Moyes is a busted flush? Recent European winner with a smaller club! He’s a top manager.

He didn’t inherit a team with parachute payments did he?
Moyes or Dyche? It’s not even a fair question as Moyes is far superior in every department.

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
I actually don't think that's true. Evertonians aren't fond of Moyes because they don't see him as someone who can deliver progress. I think the video be;ow is a fair representation of the Everton fanbase by someone who is trying to represent the fanbase.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 7:55 amMoyes isn't popular with a few Everton fans because he left them for Man U. There is a mention of the recently departed Milan manager and an acceptance that Moyes is a pragmatic choice but there is concern over the length of the contract. My general feeling is that Evertonians don't think Moyes is good enough...!
Even the Sky presenter picks up on it. It's not me saying it....!

Re: Moyes back to Toffees
Dyche will always be a legend to Burnley fans for what he did for us but I reckon pretty much any non Burnley fan would agree that Moyes is a step up from Dyche and I have to admit the would be right.
Moyes will probably only last 18 months but that will be enough time to take them from a bottom 6 side to a mid table side and lay the foundations for a top class manager like Howe or Nunez to come and use the money to get them challenging again for top 4

I can’t remember how Dyche had parachute payments in 2013/14? Can you enlighten me?

Just to stay 16th and not get relegated would be a reasonable goal given their squad and investment potential
And it's also absolutely essential financially for the club apparently that they stay up with the new stadium

It's a big fanbase with all different opinions. My dad is a ST holder at Everton and I'm friends with a lot of his match going friends on social media.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 10:12 amI actually don't think that's true.
